MARUK, John - Aged 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 3rd, 2017 at Centenary Hospital in Scarborough, Ontario.
He was predeceased by his wife Ann (Sochaski), and his sister Mary Koenning of Dana Saskatchewan.
He will be sadly missed by his eight children, Donna and her husband Rick Packer of Coldwater, ON, Karen and her husband Frank Courville of Markdale, ON, Peter Maruk of Brampton ON, Dennis and his partner Suzan Cameron of Toronto, ON, Barry and his partner Jackie Charest of Toronto, ON, Linda and her husband Dennis Sobchak of St.Catharines ON, Kenneth and his wife Denise of Mississauga, ON and Lori and her husband Barry McClatchey of Halifax NS.
He will be lovingly remembered by his seventeen grandchildren; Trevor Marshall and his wife Karen of Mount Forest ON, Chris Herrmann and his partner Sandra Downard of Hamilton, ON, Corinne Marshall and her partner Morris of Elliot Lake ON, Jonathan Maruk and his wife Hadley of Minneapolis MN, Courtney Marshall and her partner Brian of Markdale ON, Sarah Maruk of Coconut Grove FL, Taylor Maruk of Toronto, ON, Cameron Maruk of Toronto, ON, Jaylee Maruk of Los Angeles CA, Ciele Staples and her husband Garrett of Courtney BC, Alexandra Sobchak Tombs and her husband Devin of Charleston SC, Samantha Weeks and her husband Chris of Boston MA, Garrett Maruk of Mississauga, ON, Patrick Sobchak of Toronto, ON, Curtis Sobchak of Toronto, ON, Mitchell Maruk of Mississauga, ON and Mackenzie Maruk of Mississauga ON.
Sadly missed by his thirteen great grandchildren; Nicholas Eveleigh, Jacob Marshall, Tia Marshall, Nathaniel Marshall, Ambur Eveleigh, Chris Junior (CJ) Marshall, Darius Downard Herrmann, Jayda Staples, Miles Maruk, Bryn Marshall, Owen Maruk, Avery Staples, and Aidan Weeks.
The family will receive guests at Glen Oaks funeral home, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, Ontario on Thursday December 7th from 5-9pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday December 8th at 11am, followed by a reception also at Glen Oaks. Interment, Toronto immediately following reception.
