GOLDIE, John, P.Eng. (Retired) - May 23, 1925 - January 14, 2018
John passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife Esmee of nearly 67 years.
Children: Lynn Nakamura (Mat), Claire Goldie (Sinclair), David Goldie (Judi), Jill Goldie(Paul Carabott).
Granddaughters :Tracie Nakamura (Rob), Debbie Cantele (Alan), Sherrie Nakamura, Callan Langdon (Trevor), Sarah Goldie (Ryan), Kirsten Goldie, Jocelyn Carabott, Laura Carabott.
Great Granddaughters: Caitlin and Camron.
Great Grandsons : Landon, Preston, Trent, Kaden and Ryland.
John was born in Muirkirk, Ayrshire, Scotland. He attended the University of Glasgow,
graduating with a Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering in 1946.
After working in England and Scotland for 18 years, he moved his family to Canada in 1964 and began a lengthy career with Ontario Hydro, retiring in 1990.
John was a “Rock” to his family and a steadying voice of reason. He was very proud of his family, and enjoyed many family events. Anyone who knew John was aware of his great sense of
humour and the “ Twinkle” in his eye.
Friends and family will be welcomed to the Glen Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery on Thursday January 18, 2018 at 1pm for a “Celebration of Life” in the chapel.
