Dorothy was born 84 years ago in Glasgow, Scotland April 27, 1933.
Dorothy came to Canada in 1965 to start a new life with her husband Charlie Collins and four young children. Dorothy and Charlie remained married for forty-two years until Charlie’s passing in 1994.
Dorothy spent the last 20 happy years in Oakville, Ontario. Her four daughters Lorraine Lampard (Tom), Janis Poce (Diana), Gwen Scanlon (Joe) and Christine Brodigan (John), will lovingly remember Dorothy forever.
Her ten grandchildren Mason, Stephanie, Collin, Devon, Paul, Sean, Hayden, Jack, Christina and Natalie and five great grandchildren Blair, Ezra, Ophelia, Sullivan and Elaina loved Dorothy dearly. Dorothy was their biggest supporter in sports, academia and life. She was their number one cheerleader in the stands and in the audience wherever life took them.
Dorothy was the youngest of five children to Francis and Margaret Findlay (sisters Grace and Jean, and brothers Francis and James). Dorothy’s greatest inspiration was her mother, Margaret Findlay.
Dorothy will be remembered for her love of laughter, dance, music and especially family. As an award winning Highland dancer as a girl, she became a proud ambassador to everything Scottish throughout her life.
