Secor MarySECOR, Mary Eileen - (September 17, 1921 - September 12, 2017) - It is with great sadness and much love that her family announces the passing of Mary Secor.

Mary was born and grew up in Croydon, England. In 1942, she met and fell in love with a Canadian soldier, Robbie. As a war bride she travelled to Canada to begin her new life. Together they had a rich life filled with many rewarding experiences including square dancing, euchre parties, church activities and world travel.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Robbie (2000). Dearly missed by her daughters Jennifer Robson (George), and Pam Knowles, and her son David Secor.


Dolby HelenDOLBY, Helen - It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Helen at the Hamilton General Hospital on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the age of 76.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Jack. Loving mother of Jackie and proud grandma of Devonne and Chelsea.

Helen will always be lovingly remembered by Elaine and her children Cody and Breanne. She was the eldest sister to 14 siblings. Survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

WETHERELT, Laurie John Albert - Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at his home on Monday, September 11, 2017 in his 74th year.

Beloved husband of Grace for 53 years. Devoted father of Kelly (Syl) Riel, Brenda Wetherelt (Ivan), Cyndi Bailey (Aaron). Much loved grandpa of Todd (Summer), Jesse, Laurie, Carter and great-grandpa of Parker and Dominic.

He will be greatly missed by his best-friend Fred Roussel (Eleanor) and by many other family members and friends.

Laurie retired from Dofasco with 30 years of service.


Ruggi FredRUGGI, Alfred (Fred) - Called home by the Lord, Alfred (Fred) Ruggi died peacefully in his sleep at Shalom Manor in Grimsby on September 11, 2017 in his ninety-first year. 

He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of over fifty-nine years, Linda. Fred was the dear father of Jim and Marg Ruggi, Annie-Lynn and Ronn VanAndel, and Jake and Deanna Ruggi, the beloved grandfather of eleven grandchildren and their spouses, and proud great grand-dad to twelve great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by his sisters Louise and Fran, and his brother Joe, Fred is survived by his older sister Gilda.

He was a long-time member of Canadian Reformed Churches in Smithville and Hamilton.  Fred spent many years as a sales agent in real estate and at Sears Canada.

NIXON, David Lindsay - December 10, 1963 - September 11, 2017

Passed away at Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Nova Scotia after a particularly difficult battle with cancer. 

Beloved husband of Virginia, devoted son of Jack (deceased) and Lois Nixon.  Brother of Joanne Lishman (Ralph, deceased) and Mary Lou Ellis (Jim).  Uncle to Julie, Amanda, Erica and Ryan.

MAUS, Elizabeth Macintyre - Passed peacefully on September 11, 2017 at The Wellington in Hamilton after a life of achievement, public service and support and dedication to a large family.

She had previously resided at St Elizabeth Village in Hamilton for more than 30 years. She had her 98th birthday in July.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her four sisters, Agnes, Jean, Margaret and Frances and four brothers John, Douglas, Donald and Hugh.

She was born at Fairview Farm in Brant county and attended elementary and secondary school in Paris before earning her diploma in Nursing at Toronto General Hospital, her Teaching certificate at the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Western Ontario.

She was a passionate educator and mentor during her accomplished career with active care and teaching hospitals in Toronto, London, Kitchener Waterloo, Port Colborne, Galt and Hamilton.


Cripps SharonCRIPPS, Sharon Frances - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sharon on September 9, 2017 in her 73rd year.

Loving mother to Bill (Marie) and Glen. Dear sister to Helen Hubert (Kerry) and Bruce Marshall (Debbie).

She will be dearly missed by all her extended family and friends.

Sharon was a retired teacher with the Halton Catholic District School Board. After retirement, she travelled to many different countries teaching English as a second language then returning home and tutored in many ELS programs.

Di Vitantonio TinoDi VITANTONIO, Costantino 'Tino' - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother and uncle, Constantino Di Vitantonio ”Tino”, peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday September 10, 2017. Tino was 51 years of age.

He is now resting happily in the loving arms of his parents, Giulio and Dea Di Vitantonio. He will be deeply missed by his sisters, Giuliana (Ugo Giammarco), Marisa (Joe KIepin), and Mirella.

Marusiak BrownieMARUSIAK, Brownie Joseph - Passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017, peacefully in his sleep at University Hospital in London.

Predeceased by his first wife, Catherine and second wife, Janet. Father to Brian and Phillip and grandfather to Holly, Jane and Sheila.

He was a Seaman and then a machinist at Stelco. After retirement, he volunteered at Delta High School in woodworking.

Brownie was an active member of the St. John’s Ambulance Brigade.

Predeceased by his father Harry, mother Mary (nee Meek) and Sister Norma Woodward. He will be missed by his niece Gail Woodward and dear friend Dorothy Clapham.
