For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Roswell RonaldROSWELL, Ronald G. - It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Ron’s passing, after a remarkable and brave battle with cancer. Ron passed away on January 9, 2018, surrounded by his wife Linda, and his children Casey and Heather.

Ron will be sorely missed by Matthew and grandson, Grant.  

A wonderful husband, a supportive father, a patient "pappy" and loyal friend, Ron lived his life to the fullest.  From his business Brant Corrosion Control, to the family cottage in Buckhorn, his winters in Arizona, or the breakfasts he looked forward to at several local diners, Ron made friends wherever he went.

Cherished wife of Doug Whittle for 58 years. Loving mother of Arlene, Craig (Fe) and David (Brenda). Adoring grandmother to Erika (Paul), Rachel, Andrew, Douglas, Brian and Alan.

Survived by sister Barbara (Douglas, predeceased) Dobson and brother David (Betty Lou) Toms. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family.

 

Freeman TheresaFREEMAN, Theresa AnnePassed away peacefully with family and friends at her side on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton in her 51st year.

Beloved daughter of Anne & the late Glenn Freeman.  Loving sister of Mark & Sue, and Mike.  Dear aunt of Amber, and great aunt of Aurora.  Theresa will also be remembered by her extended family including her aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous friends, colleagues, and students.

Theresa worked as a teacher for 26 years at Emily C. General Elementary School.

 

BATSON, Robert "Keith" - Peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on Monday, January 8th, 2018 in his 87th year.

Beloved husband of Joanne for 52 years. Loving father of Cathi (Wayne) and Doug (Kristy). Grandfather of Oscar and Nora. Caring uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Keith was an employee of Barber Ellis for 47 years and was a longtime member of Arrowdale Golf Course.

 

SPENCER, Jean L (nee Rideout) - Peacefully, after a courageous battle with Alzheimers, at the Brantford General Hospital on Monday, January 8th, 2018 in her 89th year.

Beloved mother of the late (baby) Eugene, the late Dianne, the late Dennis, Adrian (Penny), and Karen (the late Paul) Spencer-Bell. Devoted "Gigi" to Denise (Steve), Doris (Stan), Mark (Michelle), and Shawn (Mary), and her great-grandchildren Tayte, Ethan, Aidan, Reese, and Chase.

Amel worked at Abex, was owner of Amel’s Carpet Services and was a vendor at Mizener’s Flea Market.

Beloved wife of the late Edward ‘Ted’ Nottage. Loving mother of Ted (Linda), the late Steve (Brenda), the late Glen (the late Wendy), and Paul (Christine). Proud grandmother of Tracy, Jason, Mark, Stephanie, Shawn, Mitchell, and Taylor: great-grandmother of Brooklyn, Skylar, Abigail, and Payton. Joyce is survived by her sister Dora Martin of London, England.

Beloved wife of Arie for 60 years.  Loved mother of Simon and Daune, John and Karen, Martin and Mary, Jerry and Ann, and Corrine and John Scholman.  Dear Oma of 20 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
