Beloved wife of the late Earl Maguire (2007). Loving mother of Tom (Darlene), Linda (Danny) Gamble, Gary (Teresa), Kathy Maguire, and Bill (Kim). Proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her brother Bill Homer and sister, Mona Blake. 


Scott LesSCOTT, Les - Died as he lived, with quiet dignity surrounded by family on Monday, October 23, 2017 in his 93rd year.

Devoted best friend and husband of 61 years of Wanda (October 23, 2008). Cherishing memories of Dad are Cheryl & Dave Oattes and Robin Leone & Abe Klynstra.

Lovingly remembering Grandpa are Jeremy and Ryan (Andrea) Oattes and Gregory ( Michelle), Matthew and Mark Leone. Les had welcomed to his family, with great joy, the addition of great grandchildren Amelia & Lachlan Oattes and Hannah, Connor, & Aria Leone who will be inspired to carry on the legacy of kindness and giving of their wonderful Great Grandpa.

Born April 13, 1925 to Harry and Edith Scott, Les grew up in Norwich, Ontario with 5 siblings ( predeceasing him were Mary, Marguerite, Bill, Ernie , Phyllis and their spouses). Fondly remembered by cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Les proudly served in World War II in the Lincoln & Wellington Regiment fighting on the front lines in Holland and Belgium, and following the war serving in the Occupation Army in Germany. Rmembrance Day was always honoured with deep contemplation and private memories. “ Another soldier died today”.


MORRISON, Martha Agnes (“Jean”) - Passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Shalom Village in Hamilton, with family by her side to enter into the presence of Jesus at the age of 96.

Predeceased by her husband Robert (Bert) in 1972. Cherished mother to Ken (Lorna) and Paul (Sue). She will be missed by her grandchildren Christy (Alex) and Jonathan (Katie), along with their mother Janice, Rob (Marilyn), and Gord (Beth). Jean was a proud great-grandmother to 14 great-grandchildren.

He is now reunited with his father Richard (2009). Survived by his loving mother Linda Loro, his three amazing brothers Andrew, Zachary and Jacob, with whom he had an incredible bond due to the loss of their father.

GAGNE, Gille Jean Joseph - Passed away at the age of 61 after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, October 22, 2017.

He was surrounded by the loving dedicated staff of Emmanuel House & Palliative Services Residential Hospice.

Beloved son of Muriel  and the late Roger Gagne. Loving father to his two sons Blair McIntyre (Tiffany) and Anthony Homer (Elana). Very proud and adored grandfather of 3 beautiful grandchildren, Christian, Myra and Anthony Jr.


NEWELL, Doris Geneva - Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Sunday, October 22, 2017, in her 85th year. 

Beloved wife of the late Cecil Newell (2008).  Loved mother of Kempton (Shelley), Allan (Edwina),  Wayne (Carol), Brian, Darrel (Madelaine).  Cherished Nanny to 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. 

Doris was a long-time member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church where she enjoyed her church family.  Will also be missed by her extended family and friends in Port Maitland, Nova Scotia.

Predeceased by her parents Petras and Marija Misevicius, her daughter Kristina, and her siblings Paulius (Marta), Gertruda (Albertas), Ona (Jonas) and Valdelis. 

Beloved wife of the late Mykolas (Mike) (1982). Mother of Joseph (Susan), Rita (Graham) and Edmund. Grandmother of Nicole (Joel), Lisa (Darrell), Joel (Nina), and 7 great-grandchildren. 


Gal FrankGAL, Francis Frank - Passed away peacefully at home with his daughters by his side on October 22, 2017 at the age of 102. 

Predeceased by his wife Rose in 2010. Loving father of Rose Gregor (Wayne) and Margo Gal, and grandfather to David and Michael (Victoria). 

Frank was born in Csikszentgyorgy, Transylvania on December 1, 1914 and moved to Canada in 1953. He married his beloved Rose in 1954 and worked for many years with the Hamilton Board of Education.

Predeceased by her husband Boleslaw (2000). Loving mother of Diane (Wil). Devoted Babcia of Zoë. Deeply loved aunt of Stanley (Maria), Chet (Anna), Paul "Zbyszek" (Teresa) and John Woloch. 

Will be missed by Michael, Mark (Mandy), Barbara, Richard, Krystyn (Rick), Christopher (Jessica), Robert, René as well as many nieces and nephews in Poland. Proud great-great-grand aunt of Mia, Oscar, Zenek and Finnigan.

Zahodnik StellaZAHODNIK, Stella Anne - Peacefully passed into God’s hands on October 22, 2017 at Macassa Lodge in her 101st year.

Raised in Sandy Lake, Manitoba, Stella settled in Hamilton where she raised 4 daughters on her own, setting an amazing example of what it is to be responsible, independent and strong. She dedicated her life to her family and her Catholic faith.

Stella will be deeply missed by her loving family; daughters Shirley Robertson, Patricia Travis (Bruce), Joyce McGowan (Mike), and Ellen Hodson (Tom); Grandchildren; Randy Travis, Denise Metz (Mark) Hilary Robertson, Ian Robertson (Marianne), Jeremy Bruin (Melinda), Jessica Bruin (Shawn) and Grant Hodson (Brianne). She also leaves behind twelve great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Stella worked at McMaster Hospital where she continued to volunteer for many years after her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, bowling, and travel.

We wish to thank the staff at Macassa Lodge for their compassionate care of our mother.


Dunnett LouiseDUNNETT, Louise Audrey - After an 8 year battle with brain cancer we sadly say goodbye to our sweet Louise at the age of 63.

She has played many roles in our lives and will be remembered most as a loving mother who always put her family and others before herself.

With her passing she leaves behind her husband Murray, daughter Kara, sons Chris and Jeff, daughter-in-law Marie-Pierre, son-in-law Chuck, extended family, and close friends as she begins her next journey with her parents Grace and William Moser and sister Diane Kerr in heaven.

NEALE, Doris (nee Brohammer) - Passed away peacefully Friday October 20, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital, with her daughter Brenda and son-in-law Bruce Warner by her side.

Predeceased by her daughter Carolyn Pye Cox and second husband George Neale.

Doris spent two very happy years at Deerview Crossing Retirement Home. Very grateful thanks to the wonderful staff at Deerview, the Juravinski and the CCAC staff, nurses and doctors at St. Peter’s.

Ted was a graduate of McMaster University and retired from Stelco as an industrial engineer. He had a love for life and watching football and will be missed for his sense of humour.
