BROWN, Norma - Peacefully on Feb. 3, 2017 at The Meadows in her 92nd year.

Predeceased by husband Howard Brown (2007). Loving mother of Kathy Lafferty, Susan Watling and Jackie Hadley. Proud Grandma of Erin Lafferty-Smith, Megan Lafferty, Tom, Lydia, Julia and Holly Watling, and Lauren and Jessica Wallace.

Born and raised in Hamilton Norma attended Westdale then at age 16 started working to help her family.

In Feb. 1950 while employed at Hamilton Hydro she met Howard at the Alexandra Dance Hall. They married in Dec. 1950 and settled on Glencarry Ave. then in 1960 moved to Buchanan Park. Norma was a long-time member of Linden Park Community Church, active in the UCW and organizing her congregation’s participation at Wesley Urban Ministries. She retired from Sear’s Catalogue at Centre Mall in 1985.

In retirement Howard and Norma were avid square dancers, lawn bowlers, enjoyed summers at their cottage on Lake Erie, and winters at their home in Brooksville, Florida.

Visitation at Cresmount Funeral Home - Fennell Chapel, Hamilton on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 7-9 pm. On Saturday, February 11, 2017 at LINDEN PARK COMMUNITY CHURCH, 484 East 16th Street at South Bend, visitation from 10:30 until time of service at 11 am followed by a light lunch.
