Bendes VioletBENDES, Violet (nee Banreve) - Loving wife and best friend of Alex for over 66 years, Violet passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital on February 3, 2017 surrounded by family.

Beloved mother of Robert and Linda Hishon (Richard). Devoted grandmother of Michael, Marissa and Mike (Brittany).

Predeceased by parents Nick and Margaret; in laws Alex and Esther; brothers Andy (Beatrice, Margaret) and Leslie; brother-in-law Zoli (Margaret); sister Alice and sister-in-law Helen.

Survived by her sister Helen, brother Ernie (Sandy) and brothers-in-law Louis and Steve. Nieces Barbara (Wilfried) and Nancy (Glenn), hold a special place in their heart for their aunt. She will be dearly missed by nephew Alan; niece Laura (Larry); Rohaly cousins; family of Hungarian cousin Eva Papp; as well as by longtime friend Jean Culig.

Special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph's Hospital and to Dr. Shadd and the 3 East team of St. Peter's Hospital for their care and compassion.

Visitation will be held at Truscott, Brown & Dwyer Funeral Chapel, Hamilton on Friday, February 10, 2017 beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of service in the chapel at 12 p.m. Interment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to John Calvin Hungarian Presbyterian Church (121 Birch Ave. Hamilton L8L 6H8) where Violet was a longtime member.
