Fowler MikeFOWLER, Mike - Mike passed away suddenly at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Monday, February 6, 2017 in his 62nd year.  

Beloved husband of Jan for 21 years.  Survived by his mother Betty Cornish and predeceased by his step-father Roy Cornish.  He was the loved brother of the late John (Marilyn and her current husband John Stevens), Daryl (Donna) Fowler, Ken (Lori) Fowler, Dave (Dianne) Cornish, Anita (Scott) Riddell, and Brenda (Mike) Cornish-Mulhall; brother-in-law of Jean (Warren) Wilson, the late Vivian (the late Ernie) Toldi, and Aron (the late Ann) Balogh. 

Predeceased by his father John Fowler and his mother-in-law Mary Balogh. 

“Uncle Hippo” will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews. 

Mike was a longtime resident of Waterdown where he owned Waterdown Electric for many years and was always willing to take on a high school student through the Co-Op program.  Over the years he was involved with the Waterdown Optimists Club, Royal Canadian Legion Waterdown Branch #551, and with his business sponsored and played for many baseball teams in town. 

In 1988 he was awarded the Air Canada ‘Heart of Gold’ Award through the Flamborough Review in recognition of his community efforts. 

Visitation will be held at Kitching, Steepe & Ludwig Funeral Home, Waterdown on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Private family Service. 

In Mike’s memory donations can be directed to Heart & Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society or the Diabetes Association.
