Carlstrom JoyceCARLSTROM, Joyce Carol - Peacefully passed away at the Carpenter Hospice on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the age of 75.

Beloved wife of Erik for 52 wonderful years. Loving mother of Rick and his wife Julia, Suzanne and her partner Julie, and Ken and his wife Josie. Proud grandmother of Ava Lynn, Lindy Sue, Isabella, Morgan, Kayla, Santo, and Amanda. Great-grandmother of Emme-Rose.

Cherished sister of the late Grace McAdam and her husband the late Bill, John Campanella and his wife Diane, and Carol Pakreslis and her husband George.

 

Joyce will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends including her high school friends whom she loved dearly .

She worked 19 years for the City of Burlington in various capacities, as well as Canron Inc., Foundry Division, and Income Trust.  During those times, Joyce also devoted much of her time to exercise and self-improvement, for example, oil painting, gardening, pilates, and yoga.  What brought her most enjoyment in recent years were her grandchildren and travelling to Sweden, France and Italy with her husband Erik.

The family wishes to thank Jacquie, Patricia and the many caregivers who expressed their love, care and kindness.

Visitation at the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, Hamilton on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church, 2261 Parkway Drive, Burlington on Wednesday, April 12th at 11 a.m. Interment to follow.

If desired, donations to the Carpenter Hospice or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
