Fontana RinoFONTANA, Rino - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our much-loved father and nonno. In his 90th year, Rino Fontana passed away on July 11, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Luciana. Devoted and loving father of Nancy Grieve (Colin) and Sandra Maragno (Martin). Wonderful and caring nonno to his grandchildren Connor, Lauren and Nicholas. Rino will be fondly remembered by his family members and friends both in Canada and Italy.

He was a kind and patient man who loved his family unconditionally. Always willing to lend a helping hand. Rino was Mr. Handyman who was capable of fixing anything, anytime, anywhere. He was a hard worker and had a passion for gardening.

Rino will remain forever in our hearts. Riposa in pace.

Visitation will be held at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 9 p.m. Vigil Prayers at 8:30 p.m.  A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 165 Prospect St. N. (at Barton) on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow.

A special thanks to Dr. Boyle and the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital. In Rino's memory, donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity or the S.P.C.A.
