Pitkeathly JohnPITKEATHLY, John Matthew - It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dearly loved son, brother and uncle at the Juravinski Hospital surrounded by family.

Much loved son of John (Bruce) and the late Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Pitkeathly.  Beloved youngest brother and brother-in-law of Frances and husband Ed Szypula, Theresa (predeceased), James (predeceased), Brenda and husband Isaac Silva and Tom.  Loved uncle of Patrick, Matthew and Cecilia.

He will also be missed by aunts, uncles and many cousins in the Bray, Nardi, Skal and Pitkeathly families.

John was a kind, deeply reflective, and spiritual man.  He had great inner strength and we were in awe of that strength during these last months of illness.  We are blessed to have had such an extraordinary person in our lives.

The family would like to extend their thanks to all of the many friends and family for their love and support during this time.  Special thanks to Dr. Graeme Fraser and his nurse Tracy at the Juravinski Cancer Clinic and to the awesome team on 4C especially Theresa Hale-Charters for their care and compassion.

Visitation will be held at the Cresmount Funeral Home - Fennell Chapel on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. with vigil prayers at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Parish, 20 Idlewood Ave. on Friday at 10 a.m. followed by interment.
