Petis VioletPETIS, Violet - Peacefully with her daughters by her side, on Friday, December 1, 2017, at the Sunrise Living Centre in Oakville, at the age of 81.

Beloved wife of the late John F. Petis.  She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters; Darlene Koblik (Gary) and Sandy Fulton (David), her brother; Charles Vezsenyi (Elizabeth), her sister; Anne Vezsenyi, her brother-in-law; Nick Petis (Elizabeth), her grandchildren; Christopher (Ashley), Elicia (Vince), Monica (Jay), Lyndsay, Jonathan, Jennifer (Matt), John (Sarah), Katie, Jessica, Kiera-Eli (deceased), Victoria and Alex, and her great-grandchildren; Rose, Leo, Benjamin, Julia, Romeo and Ollie.

Violet was a strong and independent woman who loved life. She battled Lupus and always remained positive. A special thank you to Angela Petis, who donated her kidney, which allowed our mom to live several years more to enjoy her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Not only was Mom a strong willed lady, she was generous and devoted to her family and her church and was instantly liked by all. Her talents allowed her to be a business woman and the first woman builder in Southern Ontario. She was and always will be our Hero.

We wish to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Sunrise Living Centre, for their support and dedication to our mother and our family.

The family will receive friends, at the Marlatt Funeral Home, Hamilton on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, with Vigil Prayers at 8:30 pm.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, 200 Mount Albion Rd., on Monday at 10:30 am.  Entombment to follow.

In Violet's memory, donations to the Lupus Foundation of Ontario or the Kidney Foundation, would be greatly appreciated.
