Cerovac VjekoslavCEROVAC, Vjekoslav - (January 8, 1935 - January 10, 2018) -

It is with great sorrow that after a brief battle with lung cancer, we announce the peaceful passing of Vjekoslav at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice shortly after his 83rd birthday, with his loving family by his side.

He was an honest and hardworking man who enjoyed the simple things in life, like his garden, and going for walks in the outdoors. While he lived through hardship and tragedy, he remained positive and brought a smile wherever he went. Happiness was found just being with family and friends.

He leaves behind his loving wife of over 60 years, Veronika; his children, Anthony, Michael (Cheryl), and Mary-Anne (Keith); as well as his sister Ivanka in Croatia.

His strong work ethic and sense of responsibility made him a valued employee of International Harvester for over 30 years, after which he enjoyed a healthy, lengthy retirement. He felt blessed in becoming a proud, loving Deda to Rachel and Shane, both of whom gave him renowned purpose and cherished fulfillment.

Dear Father, you will always be with us. In time, we shall forever be with you.

Visitation at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Prayer Vigil at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will take place at Holy Cross Croatian Catholic Church, 1883 King Street East on Monday, January 15th at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice or Holy Cross Croatian Catholic Church.
