McDowell RobertMcDOWELL, Robert Hadley - It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Hadley McDowell on June 9th, 2018, in his 69th year, after a couageous and lenghty battle.

Robert will be sadly missed by his wife, Cindy, and his children Melissa (Chris), Michelle (Ian), Paul (Ashley), Leah (Josh) and Tyler.  He will be fondly remembered by Cindy's children, David (Tina) and Amanda (Jonathan). He was a loving grandfather to Addison, Grace, Grady, Kathryn, Evelyn, Emilee, Isaac, Tiana, Tristan, Tyler, and Jason.

Rob will be greatly missed by his friend & mother of his children, Jane, his brother-in-law Bill, his nieces, Sheryl (Wayne), Karyn (Jack), his nephew Bryan (Robin), and Lauren. At peace now, he is reunited with his sister, Lynne, and parents Hadley and Beryl.

Rob was born December 12, 1949 in Hamilton. He graduated from McMaster University, became a teacher, and taught for a few years before discovering his true passion in Real Estate. Rob was a member of the Realtors Association of Hamilton-Burlington since 1974, devoted to providing ultimate service to each and every client. Making countless friends, colleagues and loyal clients along the way, Rob will always remain a legend in the Hamilton Area Real Estate community.

When Rob wasn’t busy with work, he loved spending quality time with his wife Cindy, and his children and grandchildren. Rob enjoyed nature and the outdoors, took pride in his gardening, and had a passion for old cars and car shows. The simple things in life made him happy.

Everyone who knew Rob will miss his good sense of humor, his sharp wit, and easy going personality. He was always willing to go out of his way to help others. Rob was simply an all-around wonderful person. Rob was fortunate to have a loving wife who provided him with such amazing care and support. His children are forever thankful to Cindy for being an advocate for his health and going above and beyond to make sure he was always well cared for during his illness.

Many thanks to the caring staff in the ICU and 4C at Juravinski, as well as his home care nurses.

Visitation to pay your respects will be held on Friday, June 15th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at MARLATT FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, Hamilton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
