For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Serafini GinoSERAFINI, Gino - Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in Hamilton on Monday, July 30, 2018 at the age of 88.

Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Bochenek) for 63 years. Dear father of Flora (Mike) and Joe (Marissa).

Cherished Nonno of Alicia, Renee, Dana, Jack, Mackenzie, Lilly, Eli and predeceased by his grandson Max.

Survived by brother Bruno (Maria) and brothers-in-law Walter, Jake (Ellen) and sister-in-law Lillian (Bob). Predeceased by his parents Serafino and Domenica Serafini and his in-laws Jacob and Ann Bochenek. Also predeceased by sisters Emma and Francesca.

Gino will be sadly missed by many family and friends in Canada and Italy.

Gino travelled to Canada from Italy where he met his beloved wife Margaret and made a good life and raised his two children. He was a loyal employee of Benny Haulage for 36 years and was a proud owner of over three dozen cars in his lifetime.

A special thanks to the VON, who supported Gino while at home and to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice where he spent his last week. 

Visitation on Thursday, August 2nd from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton . Vigil Prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass from St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 11 Wilson Street West, Ancaster on Friday, August 3rd at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Ancaster.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gino's memory to Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
