BURGESS, Brooke  - Suddenly on Saturday March 4, 2017 at the age of 23.

Beloved daughter of Tammy Burgess and Pierre Authier. Dear sister of Johnathon and Jessica. Much loved granddaughter of Dorothy and the late John Burgess and Pierrette and Marcel Authier.

Will be sadly missed by her extended family and many friends.

 

Baker Allan BAKER, Allan - Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Lifecare on Friday, March 3rd, 2017 at the age of 85 years. 

Beloved husband of the late Mary Baker (2011) for 63 years.  Loving father of Kathryn Poirier (Brian), Michael (Catherine) Baker, Barb (Gord) Ryerse and MaryAnne (Nelson) DaCosta.  Proud grandfather of Chris Poirier (Becky), Kerin (James) McVey, Dan Baker (Keia), Chris (Lisa) Baker, Josh DaCosta, Danielle DaCosta and Dylan Ryerse.  Cherished great-grandfather of Tyla, Tessa, Sofia, Fox, Marley, Dayna, Ireland and Jax. 

Dear brother of Loreen (the late Bob) Janes, the late Mary Jane (the late Don) Shepherd, the late Mavis (Jim) Allan and Anne (the late Sam) Minns.  He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. 

Allan joined MAAC in 1949, and was a life long member, #354. 

 

CORNER Christine -  Passed away peacefully on March 3, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at the Brantford General Hospital.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters Lori (Shayne) and Michelle (Tom). Forever remembered by her sister-in-law Norma and brother-in-law Billy.

 

MAHY, Cameron James “Cam” - With heavy hearts, we announce Cam’s  unexpected  passing on March 3rd, with his family by his side. 

He leaves behind his loving wife Robin Mahy (Nee Bryson), father to Julie Sharpe (Dave) and Kerri Evershed (Adam), Grandfather to William Sharpe. Brother to Mary Tompkins (Miles) and Son to James and the late Jean Mahy. Will also be missed by brother-in-law Scott Bryson. 

 
STREMBLE, Martin 'Marty' - With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Marty.

Best friend and soulmate of Pat McClung for 45 years. Dearest brother to Eileen Spafford (Robert) and MaryLou Archer (Travis). Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Stepfather to Dan Wootton (Melanie), Darlene Waldbroel (Karl), Jackie Nattress (Ric), Pam Fowler (Don), and Donna Cretella (Tony).  Pop will be sadly missed by 7 grandchildren: Justin & Kristi Nattress, Dylan & Kyle Waldbroel, Kayla Fowler, Christian & Eric Cretella, and one great-grandchild Zarillious Thunder Nattress.

 

Little MaryLITTLE, Mary McIntosh - May was a fine Christian woman who celebrated her 100th birthday on February 21st and peacefully passed away, surrounded by family, March 3.

May was born in Portobello, Scotland and moved to Canada as a young girl growing up in Toronto with her brothers Charlie and Tom and sister Fay.

May met the love of her life Jack Little (John A.) in Toronto and they made Hamilton their home where they raised their family, daughter Maureen Bacic (Davor), son Ken (Wanda) and son Doug (Brenda).

May inspired and will be greatly missed by all of her grandchildren Richard, Rebecca and Malcom, Vanessa and Erik, Andrea, Jenna and Daina. She will also be sadly missed by her many great grandchildren.

 

McLean MarthaMcLEAN, Martha Pearl - Passed away peacefully to be with her Lord at the age of 88 on March 3, 2017.

Missed by her daughters Linda (Jack) Shields, Nancy (Tony) McMahon and Patricia (Mark) Jones. Survived by her sister Audrey Freeman and brother Don (Vi) Tebble. Predeceased by brothers Jack and Jim Tebble.

Remembered by 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Grace Villa for their loving and compassionate care of her.

 

Bringleson FredBRINGLESON, Fred 'Bing' - Peacefully passed into everlasting life on March 3, 2017 at the notable age of 90.

Bing is predeceased by his parents Clifford and Marjorie, sister Kathy and brother Bro. Clifford Bringleson, C.R., of the Congregation of the Resurrection.

Left to mourn are his wife Laura (nee Holland) of 47 years, sons Gary (Marlene), Peter and  Father Paul Bringleson of the Archdiocese of Keewatin - The Pas.

One of Bing's many enjoyments was being in the presence of his 3 grandchildren, Yolanda (John DelCo), Chauntell (Joe Mamone) and Shawn (Krista) and 6 great-grandchildren, Hayden, Elisha, Dylan, Payton, Alyssa and Arionna.

 

Stephan VaskenSTEPHAN, Vasken Edward - Peacefully, in his 90th year, Eddy joined his beloved wife Grace (2007) on March 2, 2017. 

Loving father of Ollie (Diane) and grandfather of Blake. 

He is predeceased by his parents Sam and Lucy as well as his brothers Art and Lenny.  Missed by Madge and family, Lena and Marlene, Gord and Christopher (Kaela). 

A special thank-you to Fred Mattioli for his lifelong friendship.  Family would also like to thank Maureen (David), Mathew (Jen), Andrew (Brielle) and Winston (Deandra) for their years of support and love.

 

Baldasaro JoyceBALDASARO, Joyce -  Passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family at Juravinski Hospital on March 2, 2017 in her 88th year.

Joyce is survived by her devoted husband and friend of 67 years, Eugene. She will be greatly missed by her children Barry (Mary), Brian, Beverly (Nick) and Barbara (Hugh). Joyce was the loving grandmother of Tomas, Marco, Domini, Megan, Anthony, Reanne, Mariah, Matthew and  Philip. She will be missed by her many relatives and friends.

Joyce was a very active member of her church. She loved bowling, curling, swimming, lawn bowling, card games, and travelling with her family. She enjoyed the company of friends and family, and a good joke. In the end, knitting became a real passion for her.

 

CLARK, Marjorie Elizabeth - Passed away peacefully at Brierwood Gardens on March 1, 2017 in her 96th year. 

Predeceased by her beloved husband Allan Beverly Clark in 1999. 

 

Smith CecileSMITH, Cecille Marie Ann (nee Montpetit) - Peacefully, on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in St. Peter’s Residence at Chedoke, in her 100th year. 

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Clifford. Loving mother to Shirley. Also survived by her siblings, Beatrice, Louise and Charles, as well as her sister-in-law, Muriel Smith.

Green SheldonGREEN, Sheldon Birse - Peacefully, in his 92nd year on March 1st, 2017, while in the loving care of Mildred, his wife of 63 years at his home.

Much loved father of Carolyn Reitsma (Art), Robert (Sandra) and Marilyn Turingia (Tim). Loving grandfather of Sophie and Anne-Marie Lapierre - Green.

Predeceased by his parents Sheldon and May of Perth-Andover New Brunswick and sister Mary-Louise Perley and survived by nieces and nephews.

Bus was employed at Dofasco Steel as an accountant before retirement.

 

WAITE, Robert "Bob" - Passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 1st, 2017, in his 70th year. 

Beloved father of Brandon (Rona) Waite and Kristen (Nathan) Spiers. Much loved grandfather of Jenna, Tyler, Braelyn, Cole and Maggie. 

 

YAKIWCHUK, Tom Walter - Passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the age of 43.

Loving father to Taylor and Matthew, and will also be missed by their mother Kelly Yakiwchuk.

 

RUSSELL, Donald Keith - Born December 2, 1926 passed peacefully, in the company of family, on March 1, 2017 at 90 years of age.

Affectionately known by family as "Opie", Don was a warm and charismatic gentleman who touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

He was predeceased by his treasured wife Barbara (nee Thomson), son Robert Scott, brothers Jack and Bruce. His daughter, Dianne Russell (Paul Haalboom) and grandchildren Collin (Cait), Brad, Adam (Rachael) and Bethany (Tim) and great-grandchildren, Madaleine, Charlotte and Alex were a big source of happiness for Don and Barb along with many nieces and nephews.

 

Barnes Michael1BARNES, Michael Albert - With great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Michael Albert Barnes in his 48th year on Friday February 24, 2017. 

Michael was an avid fisherman, a great lacrosse player and he enjoyed hockey and the casino. He was a warm loving, caring man with a big heart and a great sense of humour.

Beloved son of Bernita Burnham and the late Ronald A. Barnes. Survived by siblings William, Christine (John), Beverly, Sandra (Tony) and sister Donna (Craig).

Loved by niece Michelle and great nieces Phoenix, Felicity and Mualiyah.  Along with nephew Ryker and great nephews, Cody and Drake. Loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

 

RIDGE, Dr. Robert Wray - Entered into rest peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2017 surrounded by his family at the Hamilton General Hospital in his 85th year after a lengthy courageous battle with Leukemia. 

Beloved husband to Florence (nee Davis) for 59 years.  Loving father of daughter Judy and husband Jeff Mason; daughter Nancy and husband Steve Astin; son Robert and wife Sandy; son Richard and wife Carmelina. 

 

Duss TedDUSS, Ted - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ted Duss on February 27, 2017.

Loving husband of Barbara for 57 years. Devoted father of Anne and her husband Peter Merklinger. Proud papa of John (Elisabeth), Matthew (Elysia) and Bradley. His great-grandson William was the light of his life.

He is also survived by his sister Bernice (Jim) Johst and his sister-in-law Mary McAra.

Ted was a long time employee of Victoria/Cooney Transport. In his retirement he enjoyed helping out at Lallo Mazda and spending time with his coffee buddies.

Beloved husband of the late Penelope "Penny" Zambalas. Loving father of Sevasti (Kyprianos). Caring grandfather of Yianni (Elyse) and Lefteri (Heather).

Will also be missed by nieces Maria Stamata (Dimitri) and Eleni Kydonieus (Nico) and his nephews Gus (Sue) Andrikopoulos. Paul (Michelle) Andrikpoulos and Tasso (Emily) Kritikos Brother of Photini (the late Dimitri) Andrikopoulos and brother in law Michael (Nitsa)

 

Verburg WilliamVERBURG, William Gustav - Aged 54, passed away peacefully at his home in Hamilton, Ontario surrounded by family and friends on February 28, 2017.  He was born on July 7, 1962. 

He loved his tractors and spending time with his wife and family. 

Billy is survived by his adoring wife of 20 years, Lois Earl; his treasured brother James (Linda) Verburg; his beloved sisters Mary Thorburn, Carolyn (James) Shea, and Tracy Verburg; and his dear mother Ida Verburg (née Ruckpaul). 

Predeceased by his father Hertog Peter Verburg. 

He also leaves many nieces and nephews, and many friends to mourn his loss. 

 

TUCK, Ronald - In his 92nd year, peacefully and with great dignity on Tuesday February 28th, 2017 surrounded by his loving family, Dad left us to once again be with Mom (Vivian, March 2012). 

Left to celebrate his life are his children Keith (Barb), Deb (Ken), Carl and Scott.  Poppa to seven grandchildren and Poppa "T" to nine great-grandchildren. 

 

MARR, Lois Agnes - Peacefully passed away at the Buffalo General Hospital surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the age of 82 years. 

Loving mother of Joy Marr, Guy Thomas (Rosie), and Tracey Lowry.  Dear grandmother of Brande, J.R. (Liz), Ashley (Stephen), Erica, Dusty (Linda), John Paul (Cheryl), and Mike (Alanna).  Dearest great grandmother of Alyssa, Rainie, Dameon, Savannah, Kyce, Austin, Taylor, Hunter, Aubrey, and Aiden.

POKONZIE, Dennis Michael - Suddenly on Tuesday February 28 2017 in his 65th year. 

Loving father of Kelly (Jason) Henderson and dear Grandpa "P" to Liam, Cael and Bailie.

Predeceased by his parents Edward and Rena. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Sharon (Mark) Brdar, niece Corina and his other siblings Edward, Joanne and Tim.

Dennis was a very kind and generous man and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Survived by his sister Carol, and brother Charles. Predeceased by siblings; Harold, Victoria, Clarence, Margaret, Joseph, Hilda, Victor, Barbara, Stanley, Ronald, Norman, Jack, Dorothy, and Kenneth.

Beloved wife of the late Raymond (1989) Dorothy was the loving mother to Ted (Lynne), Daniel (predeceased), Darlene Sykes (Dave), Randy (Judy), Janice Stephenson (Ian), Bonnie Cotton (James) and Ronald (Rose) .
