ELLIOTT, Ann B. (nee Risidore) - After a long battle with many illnesses, Ann passed away surrounded by her family, at Arbour Creek Long Term Care, on Monday, February 27, 2017, in her 79th year.

Beloved wife and best friend of Art for 58 years. Loving mother of Susanne Gracey and Michael and his wife Sue.

Loving husband to Sybil (2014) for 52 years and loving Father to Jacqueline (Lester), Kim, Beverly and Julia. Adored brother to Barbara, Linette, Edwin, Victor, Yvette, Astill and Avrill. Loving grandfather to Kevin, Leuanna (Dale) and Christine and grand great-grandfather to Daryen, Larron, Ayanna, Nalayne and Daniel.

George will be missed by many extended family and friends.

 

STEFANOVIC, George (Durde) - Peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2017 in his sleep at the Juravinski Hospital in his 82nd year surrounded by his loving family. 

Beloved husband of 60 years to Vojka.  Cherished father of Batisha (Zorica) and Voja (Carmen).  Loving grandfather of Nick (Milica), Maya (Adam), Marko (Ana) and Daniel. 

 

Richard PatriciaRICHARD, Patricia Anne "Patty" - After a lengthy and courageous battle with lung cancer, Patty Anne Richard is now resting peacefully. On February 26th, 2017, she passed away at the Brantford General Hospital surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

She recently had a wonderful celebration for her 60th birthday on January 14th.

Loving wife of Pierre Richard. Cherished mother of Daren Trousdell (Vanessa) and Mike Trousdell, step-mother to Sophie Simone. Devoted grandmother of her grandson Alex Trousdell who was the light of her life as well as her three beautiful granddaughters Abbey and Olivia Trousdell, and Brooklyn Walker.

 

PIECH, Vera - It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mom on February 26, 2017 in her 81st year. 

Beloved wife of 49 years of the late Walter.  Loving mom of Dan (Alison) and Kasia (Jorge) and stepmom of Terry and the late Zennon.  Caring grandmother of seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Beloved husband to Debbie, with whom he shared 27 beautiful years of marriage. Cherished and loved father to Lauren and her partner Nicholas.

He is reunited with his parents Nobby and Masa Tonogai.

Forever remembered by his life long best friend, Jeff Mungar and his wife Nicole. Glenn will be greatly missed by his pooch, Hailey, and many extended family members and friends.

 

SHEEHAN, Joseph - On Sunday, February 26, 2017, I, Michelle, lost my father and my friend Joe in his 54th year. He passed away peacefully, at St. Peter’s Hospital, surrounded by his family.

He was the son of the late Nora Sheehan and the late Eddie Sheehan. Much loved brother of David (Colleen), Paula, Al (AnnMarie), Ray and Brian. Very special friend of Michele, Francis and Vince Deery. Also survived by many aunts and uncles in Ontario and PEI.

 

POLLINGTON, Iris Maud (nee Pickett)  - July 4, 1915 - February 26, 2017

On Sunday, February 26, 2017, our beloved mother Iris passed away at the age 101 years and is reunited with her husband Fred, sister Phyllis, and brother Art.

Left to mourn are the children she so loved; sons Thomas (Judy), Bill (Late George), and John, and daughters Gwen (Late Lorne), Ellen (Late Fred), and Georgina (Rick). Iris will be missed by her 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren, as well by her special friends Sue & Terry.

Beloved husband of the late Carmela (2002). Dear father of Joanne O’Reilly (Daniel) and Richard (Lily). Proud and loving granpa of Daniel (Sheila) and Matthew. Treasured brother to Angelo (Beatrice) of Montreal, Carmelo (the late Shirley) of Ancaster and predeceased by his sister Anne Hall (Edward). Survived by his sister-in law Jenny Van Fleet. Predeceased by his in-laws Angelo & Mary Marranca, Ken & Connie McLachlan and Gordon Van Fleet. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, family, and friends. 

Sam was a Private in the Royal Regiment of Canada and saw active duty overseas in 1944. He was reported missing in action in September 1944 when he was captured and taken prisoner in Dunkirk, France. He was released in May 1945 and was discharged in July 1945. He returned to Hamilton and was a long time employee of Canron Foundries.

Loving mother of Lisa and Jeff Lockhart of Selkirk and Mike and Jamie of Selkirk.  Awesome Grandma of Caleb, Sadie and Jacksyn Lockhart; Brody and Brayden Lint. 

 

BLIGHT, Ruth Elfhild (nee Nordstrom) - With profound sadness, the family wish to announce the passing of Ruth Elfhild Blight on Saturday, February 25, 2017 in her 103rd year.  Born in Hatfield, Saskatchewan on September 3, 1914. 

She was very proud to serve Canada as a nurse in WWII where she met her beloved husband Gordon Patterson Blight (Predeceased 1997).

ZIMMERMAN, Herbert 'Herbie' - Passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2017 in his 84th year.

Beloved husband of Donna Zimmerman. Loving father of Jayne Bella (Danny) and Julie Plant. Missed by step son Paul (Sherri) Tribe and Douglas (Cinci) Tribe. Cherished grandfather of Josh, Samantha, Ashley, Noah, Owen, Kameron, Katrina, Garrett and Jesse.

Deeply missed by brother-in-law Bob (Candy). He will be sadly missed by many nephews and friends.

Predeceased by her husband Fred. Loving mother to Dianne, Roy and Dolores. Predeceased by her sons Freddy, Tom and daughter Karen. She will be fondly remembered by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

McIntosh James AlMCINTOSH, James "Al" - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of James Allan McIntosh with family by his side in his 79th year.

He has been reunited with the love of his life Patricia (2016) Loving father of Tommy ( Cindy), Mike ( Cindy), Paul (Jeanette), Mark, Debbie ( Reggie) and Lori (Todd). Beloved grandpa of Christa, Brian, Christy, Jaime, Kevin (predeceased), Emily, Michelle, Brandon, Brett, Steven, Mark and Alexandra.

Survived by sister Hilda (the late George) brother Sonny ( Glenna) and the late Robert. Sister in law Rose (Brian) and brother in law Paul. "Al" was an avid golfer and a big fan of NASCAR especially Dale Earnhardt .

 

Carter Edwards EdCARTER-EDWARDS, Edward 'Ed' - The tenor voice, endless jokes and talks about his POW experiences that were so much a part of Edward Carter-Edwards are now history. In his 94th year, Ed passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at McNally House.

Born in Montreal in 1923, his family moved to Hagersville then Hamilton. Ed joined the RCAF during WWII. When his Halifax bomber was shot down June 1944, he was captured and incarcerated along with 167 other allied airmen in Buchenwald Concentration Camp. After liberation, Ed returned home and married Lois (nee Russell) in 1946 and settled in Ancaster.

Ed’s voice could be heard in productions of the Hamilton Theatre Company, Harlequin Singers and Church choirs at Ancaster, Hamilton and Smithville.

After retiring from Westinghouse/Camco, Ed and Lois moved to Bala and Bradenton, Florida before settling in Smithville in 1994.
