McLaren JohnMcLAREN, (Douglas) John - Jan 28, 1950 – May 7, 2017

After a multitude of medical problems, spanning many years, John met a challenge he couldn’t win, and lost a short battle with cancer in palliative care at the Brantford General Hospital.

He leaves behind his best friend and loving wife of 47 years Candi (nee Goold). He will be greatly missed by his daughter Tracy Crabb (Kenny) and his son Mike McLaren. His adored Granddaughters Brooklyn and Avery Crabb and Emily McLaren will remember their papa fondly.

 

Thomas PatriciaTHOMAS, Patricia (nee Jones) – It is with great sadness and utter devastation that we announce the sudden passing of our Mother Patricia on May 3, 2017, in a terrible accident while vacationing in Costa Rica.  She was in her 78th year. 

Patricia is survived by her children, Keith (Liz), Kim (Mike), Kelly (John) and Kris (Heidi), her grandchildren, Samantha, Johnny, Jenna, Jesse and Jadyn, her sister Brenda Quinn and sister-in-law Cheryl Jones. 

She will also be greatly missed by many extended family members and friends.

 

McDONALD, Patricia - At St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday May 2, 2017, Patricia McDonald in her 86th year.

Loving wife of the late Norbert “Knobby”. Loving mother of Charles, Michael(the late Kathy), James(the late Glenda), and John(Geraldine). Loved grandma of Meagan(Brennon), Jennifer, Luke(Steph), Madelyn(James), Michael, Sarah, Emilie, Kallie, Delaney, Cail, Shannon, and Patrick. Cherished great grandma of Cayden and Dax.

 

 NORMAN, Francis Joseph - Passed away on May 2, 2017 in his 54th year.

Loving husband of Carolynn Leforme.

SHEPPIT, John - Peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on Tuesday May 2, 2017.

Husband of Tania Meadows. Survived by his children Avery Thompson and David Sheppit/Maracle, His father George Sheppit and his wife Patricia and mother Brenda and her husband Pete Holmes, sister Terri and brothers Mitchell & George.

Predeceased by his sister Robin.

Also survived by his nieces Alicia Fancy and Chelsea Sheppit.

 

KKeay NellieEAY, Nellie - Suddenly at home, in her 90th year, Nellie is reunited with her husband Hamish (Feb. 1, 1930 – March 23, 1998). 

She is predeceased by her parents and many sisters.  Still surviving are her loving brother Bill and sister Olga. 

Nellie leaves behind her children whom she treasured, Debbie, Donna, Diane, Daryl (Genny).  She was an amazing mom and they loved her too. 

Despite Parkinson's and dementia her humour continued and it will be those moments that will be remembered.  Nellie also loved her furry grandchildren, Muffin, Max, and Tango. 

The family would like to convey a special thank you to Hamilton Police Services, Hamilton Fire Department, Paramedic Services and Hamilton General Hospital Staff for their kindness and support. 

 

Barlow BarbaraBARLOW, Barbara (nee Hudecki) -  Oskee wee wee! One to never give up a fight, and after a lengthy illness that would rival any gridiron battle, Barbara passed into the arms of Jesus from the loving arms of her husband Ross on May 2nd.  She was 74 and married for over 50 years. 

Ross was her best friend, her confidante, caregiver, and truly the love of her life. Barbara was also a remarkable mother and loved by her 7 children: Ross, Trevor, Sean, Kevin, Karen, Leigh Anne, and Matthew.

With open arms she also loved the in-laws: Melanie, Debra, and Brian, as well as the other special people in the family: Joe, Jordan, Teelah, and Sherri. “Grandma B” gave countless hugs to her 14 grandchildren: Mitchell, Jack, Emily, Valerie, Owen, Will, Joshua, Lola Rose, Violet, Isobel, Olivia, Scarlet, Ronan, and baby Alexandra. 

 

DJORDJEVIC, Suhreta (Sheri) - Passed away suddenly on May 2, 2017, in her 76th year.

Sheri is survived by her daughter Radmila Renee Iliou, and grandchildren Sandra McEachern and family,  and Demetrios Iliou and family.

 

Johnston MaryJOHNSTON, Mary Josephine - With great sadness and broken hearts, the family announces that Mary Josephine Johnston passed away peacefully at her home, on Tuesday, May 2, 2017.

Born in Hamilton on January 1, 1937. Predeceased by her parents Rose and Joseph Celi.

She will be dearly missed by her husband of 53 years, Keith and her children, Lisa and Derek (Linda) and loved by granddaughter Haley. Mary is survived by siblings Anthony Celi, Carm Kelly and Connie Inrig and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and family.

 

Daciuk JohnDACIUK, John Harold - (September 25, 1939 - May 2, 2017) - Passed away peacefully in the arms of his dearly beloved and surrounded by family at St. Peter’s Hospital, on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in his 78th year.

Beloved husband and lifetime partner of Judith for 54 years. Loved father of Janice Daciuk and Lori Pook (Sean). Proud grandfather of Jesse.

Dear brother of Tony Daciuk and his wife Joan. Predeceased by his brothers Walter Billetski, Pete Daciuk and many beloved friends.

John had a long and successful career as a Chartered Accountant, retiring from his position as Managing Partner at BDO Dunwoody Ward Mallette in Hamilton in 2002. He continued to work for a handful of clients up until a year ago. He was one of the lucky ones who truly enjoyed his profession and his work.

 

HOLMES, Brian - Passed away on May 2, 2017, after a long illness that he never allowed to slow him down and fought to the end as a man of courage and great integrity. He lived his life with a never-ending passion for travel, hard work and humour.  

Proud and loving father to his son Russell Holmes (Sandra) and daughter Michelle Muys (Steve); beloved to his grandchildren Cierra, Talon, Cecilia and Megan.

 

WAINWRIGHT, Albert  - February 14, 1925 - May 2, 2017

After a long courageous battle with cancer, Albert passed away peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital.

He leaves behind his loving wife Audrey and a very caring son Scott, his sisters Joan and Lily and families in England.

Beloved wife of the late William Kennedy (2011).  Loved mother of Barbara (Richard-deceased), Edith (Bill), Eileen (David), Rob (Tracey) and Maureen (Scott).  Grandmother to Suzanne, Richard, Amanda, Jodi, Jamie, Jeffrey, Summer, Ben, Gabriel and Rachael.  Great-Grandmother to Sebastian, Elliott, Kaylee, Alex, Tommy, Victoria, Madison and Hudson. 

 

SUSNYAR, David - Peacefully, surrounded by his family on May 1, 2017 in his 69th year.  

Beloved husband of Pam. Dearly missed by his mother Nada and father, the late Nikola.  

Survived by his brother Robert (Patti), sisters Ida (Mike) and Jelena, nieces and nephews Steven (Maggie), Stefanie, Mark (Stacia), Tia, Nik and Tesla.  Also remembered by his mother-in-law Marie Rattray and father-in-law the late Alex.

 

ARAR-NEŠKOVIĆ, Nada - Her story carries across continents and oceans. Born in 1942 in the former Yugoslavia, Nada came to Canada in 1964 with her fledgling family and through her tender, determined, caring, fiery and nurturing ways, saw it flourish.

She passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Hamilton General Hospital on April 30th at the age of 75.

 

MacNeil JohnMacNEIL, John Paul (Paul) – Passed away suddenly at his residence on May 1, 2017, in his 53rd year. 

Paul is survived by his mother Fayne, Brother and Sisters, Cindy, Joe (Anne Marie), Debbie (Andrew) and Charlene. 

He will be dearly missed by many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews and Cousins. 

Paul worked for over 30 years at Domtar (Rickters). 

 

BRITTAIN, Eleanor Jean - The family of Eleanor Jean Brittain sadly announces her unexpected passing at home on Monday May 1, 2017 at the age of 77 years.

Much loved mother of Julie McLeod and Holly Loucas (Richard). Beloved “Grammie” of Matthew and Katelyn.

Dear sister of Doug Persall (Dianne) and the late Clarence Persall (Marie). Also missed by nieces and nephews.

 

Karbownik MariannaKARBOWNIK, Marianna - Beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Passed away in her sleep on May 1st 2017 at the age of 95.

Reuniting with her loving husband Jan Karbownik (1984) and brother Franciszek. Survived by her younger sister Janina Kostro (Pawel 1999). Beloved mother of Wanda Kopa (Tadeusz 2010), Zofia Rzeznik (Marion), Teresa Lyczek (Jerzy), Andrzej Karbownik (Elzbieta), Jadwiga Jackow (Miroslaw). Dear Babcia of 13 grandchildren and loving Pra-Babcia of 13 great grandchildren in Poland and Canada.

 

Twomey GregTWOMEY, Gregory Andrew  - It is with great sadness that the Twomey girls announce the unexpected passing of their cherished and devoted husband and father, Greg.

Left to grieve are his wife and best friend Lisa and his loving, special daughters, Annalise and Rosemary.

Greg will be missed by his loving mother Susan, big brother Tim (Janet), his "birthday treat" sister Linda, and his baby sister Julie. Greg was a special son-in-law to Brian and Antonina McHugh and "fishing bro" to Patrick (Peggy) and Brian McHugh. Greg was a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews, loved nephew and cousin to many.

NEUMANN, Wilhelm - It is with deep sorrow, we announce the sudden passing of Wilhelm on May 1, 2017 at the Juravinski Hospital. 

He was the loving and devoted husband of Christel and very dear father of Christiane.

Finally reunited with his wife Patricia (2008), brothers Ike, John, Dalton, Reginald and sister Rose. 

Survived by his brother Len. 

Father of Cassandra and Mary.  Step father of Kevin, Mike and Dan.  Grandfather of 15.  Great grandfather of 14.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. 

 

Montani GerryMONTANI, Guerino 'Gerry' - It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Gerry Montani at his home in Napanee on Monday, May 1, 2017, in his 93rd year.

Loving and cherished father of Karen Dowhan and Lisa Veritis (Paul). Proud and treasured Grandpa of Courtney, Jake, Nate, and Lindsay. Brother of Iolanda (“Vi”) Connolly, special brother-in-law of the late William “Bill” Connolly.

Predeceased by his parents, Vincenzo and Emma Montani, his brothers, Ado, Mario, and Umberto and his sisters, Elza Gravina (Luigi), Eva Del Guidice and Lidia Montani. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews as Uncle Beef.

Gerry was born and raised in Hamilton and retired after 23 years at Macassa Lodge.

 

Lyons RobertLYONS, Robert “Bob” Alexander – after a courageous two year triumphant battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robert Lyons of Paris, Ontario, in his 75th year. 

Bob was the beloved best friend and husband of Bronwyn “Bonnie” Lyons.  Devoted father to Kenneth Lyons and Jamie Lyons.  Loving grandfather to Brooke Lyons. 

Bob was predeceased by his brother William Lyons (2011).
