Giddens PhyllisGIDDENS, Phyllis Marion - With sadness, tinged with joy and relief, the family announces the passing of Phyllis Marion (Smith) Giddens on Thursday, July 13, 2017 in her 90th year. 

After a 12 year battle with the horrors and humiliations of Alzheimer's Disease, Phyllis is finally at peace. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Elizabeth (Allan), John and Bill (Cheryl) and her treasured grandchildren Natalie (Kyle) and Jamie (Ashley) Hayes and Will and Connor Giddens. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Loved daughter of Roy and Cathy Fletcher of Dundas, brother Kyle Fletcher, Copetown.  Carly leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  She will be mourned by Nana Saccomano. 

Friends will be received by the family on Thursday evening from 6-9 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, Dundas.  A private inurnment will be held at a later date.  Cremation has taken place.

With sadness in our hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother Helen at St. Joseph’s Villa, Dundas, at the age of 95.

Pre-deceased by her husband Cecil (2003). She is survived by her loving children Joan Culnane & Bruce Moote. Beloved grandmother of Craig Stewart & Matthew Moote. Pre-deceased by grandson Jeffrey Stewart (2012) and by her caring son-in-law Terry Culnane (Jan. 3/17).


PUDDICOMBE, John Lewis Henry - Passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 in his 94th year.

Son of the late John and Clara Puddicombe. Predeceased by his wife Dorothy “Bobbe” (2016) and his brother Edgar. Survived by his children Murray (Carol), Bill (Joan), Leslie and Janie, 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Lew was a lifelong resident of Winona, and was a graduate of Guelph University (1947) studying Horticulture. After the passing of his father in 1951, Lew with his wife Bobbe by his side, continued farming until their retirement.

Smith John CyrilSMITH, John Cyril - Born May 30, 1924, passed away July 12, 2017 at Joseph Brant Hospital after a long illness.

Predeceased by his wife Jean.

John is survived by his sister Nora (England), daughter Lesley (Pete), three grandchildren Cheryl (Jon), Kelly (Brad) and Mallory. Also survived by three great-grandchildren Audrey, Violet and Charlotte.

John moved to Canada from England in the 50’s after serving in WWII with RAF. John retired in the 80’s from Westinghouse as an Electronic Technician.

He enjoyed his airplanes and loved to go to the Warplane Museum in Mt. Hope. He was known to come up with comical comments that would make everyone laugh.

He was a kind and patient man who loved his family unconditionally. Always willing to lend a helping hand. Rino was Mr. Handyman who was capable of fixing anything, anytime, anywhere. He was a hard worker and had a passion for gardening.

60 years of friendship and love with Murray Dawson has ended after a heroic battle with cancer. 

Marleen was loved by all who knew her, she will be missed terribly by her daughters Leigh-Ann (Robert) and Karen (Shannon); her brother Bruce, and her predeceased brother Bill.  Special place in her heart for her grandson Kurt who loved her dearly.
