Loving wife of the late Nikoloas, loving and devoted mother of Linda Barnett (Jim), Alexander (Debbie) and loving grandmother of Nikolas, Maximillian and Sebastian. 

Loving sister and friend of Rita Cirino of Cleveland.  She will be affectionately remembered by nieces Gina Greisl and Marie Lograsso and nephew, Anthony Cirino of Cleveland, their spouses and  children. Thelma was the daughter of the late Kosmas and Evgenia Nates.

 

JASZEWSKI, Zygmunt - Passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at the age of 78 at St. Peter's Hospital, Hamilton.

Loving husband to Danuta. Proud father to Malgorzata Wrzos (Robert) and Krzysztof Jaszewski. Zygmunt was a cherished grandfather to Katarzyna, Michal, Paulina, and Daniel.

Predeceased by husband Len Walker, and loving son Danny Walker.  Loving mother of Brenda (Joe Pecaric), Debbie (Chuck Burton), Joanne Longton, and Sandy Oldenburg. Survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation to be held at Kitching, Steepe & Ludwig Funeral Home, Waterdown, on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm., where a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow.

 

Gunby JeanGUNBY, Jean Marie (nee Robson) - Peacefully, surrounded by family at Joseph Brant Hospital, Jean Marie passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 in her 84th year.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Glenn, and survived by her children Jane (Paul), Mark, Susan (Don) and Paul (Carolyn). Adoring Nanny of Janet, Greg, Jessica, Kristen, Joshua and Kyle, and five great-grandchildren.

Lifetime member of Jean Gordon Auxiliary and St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church of Burlington.

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of John Vidovich at St. Peters Hospital on Monday, February 20, 2017 at the age of 89.

Beloved husband of 67 years to Anna, father to Lee and grandfather to Steven, Mark and Natalie.

Survived by his beloved sister Anastasia (Harvey) in Canada, sisters Mary (Roko) and Gisella (Franjo), and brother Rudy (Maria), Vida (Maria), Mijo (Darinka) and Joseph (Klara) in Croatia. Uncle to Alexander. John will be mourned by his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Canada and Croatia.

Peacefully passed away at the Juravinski Hospital with family by his side, on February 19, 2017, in his 60th year.

Loving wife to Kurt Fritz, and mother to children Gerald (Marina), Robert and Debbie. Devoted and caring “Oma” to grandchildren Jordan, Brandon, Aaron, Shawn and Sarah.

Known as “Katie” to family and her friends, she will always be remembered for her love of life and family, her wonderful hospitality and generosity, great cooking and baking, and big heart.

Despite Katie’s severe physical limitations, particularly over her later years, her strength of character enabled her to be an active volunteer in her church community and worthwhile charity events. She will be sorely missed during family gatherings and in our daily lives.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Hagersville on Thursday February 23, 2017 at 11 a.m. with visiting one hour prior. Interment.

 

McNaughton EarlMcNAUGHTON, Earl Clifford - May 24th 1929 – February 19th 2017

Our lives have been filled with love & laughter of a great man. Unfortunately, in his 87th year we announce his passing.

Predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Sr. and Viola, brothers, Daniel Jr. (late Elaine) and Reginald (late Mary) sister Muriel, and son Clifton Wayne. Survived by: his wife Lorna (nee General), siblings; William (late Leone), John (Deanna), Mary-Lou Brant (late Sidney), and Sanford (Judy); his children; Wendy Apple (George), Karen, Earl Brian, Edward (Sue), and Harry (Wilma); and many nieces and nephews. He was also blessed with 23 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.

Earl drove bus for 3 generations here at Six Nations. He could be found at the local restaurant, Erlind’s, in the early hours, sometimes even before it was open! A member and president of the Six Nations Pageant Committee, he put in a lot of his time and effort to make sure it ran smoothly.

Survived by his elder brother, Rev. Francis Austin of Manchester, UK, and predeceased by his eldest brother, Raymond (2002). Loving father to Larry (Corinne), Geoff (Marsha), Valerie Rogano (Frank), and Jim (Cindy). Grandad to Jennifer Crevatin (Brandon), Steven Rogano (Alicia), Leland, Dennis (Sarah), Nicole Rogano, Brynda, Kevin, Susan (Sheldon Nelson), and Adele Rogano. Copple JackCOPPLE, John 'Jack' - (November 16, 1945 - February 18, 2017) -

Great men are measured by those they've loved and shown kindness to. We're sad to say goodbye to Jack (John) Copple - husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, teammate and coach - a truly great man who touched the lives of many.

Jack will be missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Jeanette, his boys who have become great men, Jason, John and Ron, and their wives Leona, Tracey and Donna.

He was proud of his grandchildren who loved him so much: Jack, Maggie, True, Jacob, Nathalie and Luc.

Osmond GordonOSMOND, Gordon - Passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home as the result of a brain aneurysm.

Beloved Husband of Bonnie Etherington for 35 years. Loving Dad of Teri (Greg) and Kevan (Acca). Proud new Papa of Rory.

Gord will be deeply missed by his mom Mary, sister Marilyn (Brian), and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Gordon Sr. Fondly remembered by many extended family and friends.

Gord spent a couple of years building log houses in BC and Ontario. He then returned to Brantford where he taught grade 8 for over 30 years. In his retirement he started the Over 60 Baseball League and could be found curling at the Brantford Curling Club, golfing, or at his cottage on Ahmic Lake.

 

HAMILTON, George William - May 8, 1928 – February 18, 2017

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of our dearly loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on February 18th, 2017 with his family by his side in his 89th year. 

George will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 68 years, Dorothy with whom he shared a wonderful active life and a very loving family.  He will always be cherished by his children the late Bill (Ann), Bruce (Nancy), Beverley, Bob (Jean), his grandchildren Stacey, Jennifer (Dan), Lesley, Ian and great-grandchildren Kate, Grayson and Emery.

Evelyn was a longtime parishioner and choir member of Pioneer Memorial United Church.

 

Laidlaw SallyLAIDLAW, Sally - Quietly passed away at Anson Place Lifecare Centre in Hagersville on Saturday, February 18, 2017.  Sally was in her ninety-nineth year. 

Predeceased by her husband Peter Elliott Laidlaw in 2010.  Loving mother of Jean Smith (Don), Joan Corlis (Ralph), Don Laidlaw (Bettyann), and Dale Laidlaw (Donna).  Dear grandma to ten grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and twenty-seven great grandchildren.

Predeceased by brother Harold, Donald, and sister Edith Armstrong.  Survived by sister-in-law Ruth McKeen, and many nieces and nephews. 

Sally was a very dynamic lady who led a very active and healthy life with her late husband Peter for 71 years.

Beloved husband of Lois (Kinnear) for 59 years. Much loved father of Rick & Annette, Greg & Lise, Drew & Susan, Alan & Jacqui, Marilyn & Andy, Brenda & Ron, Dale & Ann, Steve & Paula. Dear brother to Ed, Mary, Joan, Tom and predeceased by brother, Ken.

Loving grandfather to 25 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Jack worked at Dofasco for 35 years, then he retired to his farm where he continued to live with Lois until going into hospital with pneumonia.
