Hendry WilliamHENDRY, William ‘Bill’ James - With loving memories and peaceful hearts we are sad to announce that William James Hendry went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in his 79th year. 

Beloved husband of Lyndia Mae Hendry (nee Hall) and loving father of Jeffrey (Michelle). 

Left to mourn his loss are brother-in-law Wayne Hall (Pat), niece Dawn Hall (Jonas), nephew David Hall (Michele), great-nephew Jack, “adopted daughter” Kathy Bennett, many neighbours and friends.

 

GONDOS, Elizabeth Margaret - Peacefully at the BGH on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in her 83rd year, Elizabeth Margaret Gondos, (neeTerdik).

Beloved wife of the late Stephen Gondos Sr. (2001).  Much loved mother of Stephen (Diane), St. George, the late Richard Gondos, and Robert, Paris. Loving grandmother of Stephen Jr., Christine (Andre), and Alex and great-grandmother of James.

 

Stewart GeraldSTEWART, Gerald Robert “Jerry” - Peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in his 71st year. 

Loving father of Kimberly (Parwiz), Kerrie (Derek), Marcie, and Jodie.  Dear papa of Seif, Sarina, Luk, Zak, Tyler, Amber, and great papa of Caleb. 

Predeceased by parents Elgin & Elsie (Kriter) Stewart, and sister Lois Heimbecker. 

Jerry was born, and lived in the Cheapside community all of his life, and he was a well-known and respected well driller and farmer. 

He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by family, extended family and friends. 

 

Osbaldeston BernardOSBALDESTON, Bernard James Joseph - (August 27, 1924 - August 1, 2017) -

After living life to the fullest, always with a smile and a story or two, we say goodbye to a remarkable man. Bernard passed away after a brief illness on August 1st, 2017, surrounded by family.

Loving husband to Phyllis for over 60 years. Father to Donna, Paul, Bill and Diane (Randy). Grandfather to Shawn, Brandy, Tegan and Taylor. Great-grandfather to Andrew, Brody and Mackenzie.

Bernard was born to loving parents, the late Bertha and Edward Osbaldeston. He was close to his siblings Gordon and the predeceased John and George.

A true entrepreneur, Bernard built his businesses in Hamilton. Most of the businesses he developed were on Barton St. E., an area of the city very near and dear to him.

 

EMERSON, Jerry Donald - Passed away at his home in Hamilton, on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, in his 57th year.

Beloved husband of Patricia Glassco. Loved brother of Dianne Sidierius (Jerry), Sheila Simm (Glenn) and Connie Emerson and brother-in-law of Vicki Glassco-Julian, Don Glassco (Mary Jane), Mac Glassco and Nora Glassco.

Jerry will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great grand-nieces, great-grand-nephews and his parrots, cats and dog. Predeceased by his parents Kathleen and Donald Emerson.

 

MACKINNON, Janet Elaine -  With her family at her side, Janet Elaine (nee Gleiser) passed away peacefully in her 77th year following a recent diagnosis of progressed lung cancer.

Proud mother of Julie (Robert), John (Jill) and Paul (Kathleen), and even prouder grandmother of Matthew, Logan, Claire and Audrey. She will also be missed by her surviving siblings Richard (Judy) and Brian (Lorraine – deceased/Judy Wilson), and those by marriage, Michael Christopher (Jean), Kay and Dan Robson, and Don and Barbara MacKinnon.

 

Duke GlennDUKE, Glenn Laurence - Peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital, Hamilton on Monday, July 31, 2017, Glenn Duke at the age of 71.

Dear brother of Stanley Duke (Judith), Brian Duke (Cheryl), Anne Duke (Lawrence) and Lois Corey (Ted), and uncle to two nephews, six nieces, four great-nephews and three great-nieces.

Glenn will always be remembered as a champion runner, setting a Canadian junior record. He represented Parkside Highschool, and later won a scholarship to the University of Michigan-Flint.

MORROW, John - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his step daughter Jeannie and son-in-law Lloyd, at Dundurn Place on Monday, July 31, 2017 at the age of 85. 

Beloved husband of the late Nancy and companion of the late Barb Murray (2016).

John is survived by his children Janice, Ian, Wayne; step daughter Jeannie (Lloyd); grandchildren Tyler, the late Zac; sister in law Phyllis and her children Stephen and Gail (Patrick) along with their children. 

 

Hare AndreaHARE, Andrea Daphne (nee Feigenbaum) - Passed away on Monday July 31st, 2017, peacefully at Stedman Community Hospice in Brantford, ON.

Beloved wife of Brook Hare. Loving mother of Jaden and Abigail Hare. 

Cherished daughter of Marvin and Susan Feigenbaum and loved sister of Jeff Feigenbaum.  Daughter-in-law to Gayle, Rolly and the late Ron and Phil, sister-in-law to Wanda, Angela and Brent.

Caring aunt of Aaron, Nathan, Laiken, Charlotte, Chance, Harry and Melody.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. 

 

Goit StanleyGOIT, Stanley Russell - On July 31, 2017 in his 61st year. 

Father of Michael (Jacqueline) and Kristen (Matthew).  Grandpa to Mason and Meyer.  Brother to Ken (Mary) and Dan (Karinn).

He will also be missed by April Jackman-Goit as well as his many nieces and nephews. 

Stanley was a proud member of Insulators Local 95. 

 

MANARY, Rick - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at St. Peters Hospital in Hamilton, at the age of 61.

Cherished father to Cheryl Islic (Drazen) and Brieanna Manary. Loving grandfather to Chloe and Skyler. Survived by his siblings Dave (Sharon), Marilyn (Raymond), and Kim (Joe).  Rick will also be missed by his good friends Cheryl and Randy.

 

Butler MabelBUTLER, Mabel Irene (nee Barnes) - Peacefully at home on Sunday July 30, 2017 surrounded by her family and loved ones.  She is gone to join her loved ones that have gone on before her. 

Born January 19, 1917 to Charles Barnes and Bertha Barnes (Hill). 

She was raised by her father, grandmother and later her step mother Annie Staats. Mother to Brenda & Jerry Moore, Beverley Butler, Sandra & Jim Neufeld, Dan (Eughie) & April Butler, Lucille Butler, Wayne (Fudd) Butler & Leola, Linda Butler, Darlene Butler & Roger Martin, Tracey and daughter-in-law Laura Butler. 

Predeceased by her late husband of 69 years, Daniel Butler (2008).   Also predeceased by her oldest son Samuel C. Butler, Baby Alice, grandsons; Donnie & Jordan and great grandson Ryan and baby great granddaughter.   Also was predeceased by her late brothers Welby Barnes (Lavina) and  Jim Clench (Betty). 

 

Duda ChesterDUDA, Chester (Czeslaw) -  Died peacefully surrounded by his family on July 30, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital.

Chester is survived by his wife, Tillie of 66 years, sons Joseph (Lesley), Ron (Natalie), and daughter, Janice Duda-Kosar (Bob).  Proud and loving dziadzia to Stephanie (Rob) and Natalie Rose.  Step-grandfather to Quinn, Chelsea (Costine), Liam, China and David.  Pra dziadzia to his precious Bryn Doyle. 

Also survived by his twin brother Kazik and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Poland.  Chester is preceded in death by his parents, Piotr and Katarzyna Duda, 11 brothers and sisters and daughter in law Jennie. 

Chester was born on March 1, 1925 in Poznan,, Poland.  In 1947 he immigrated to Canada.  Eventually he settled in Hamilton where he met and married Tillie.  Together, these two remarkable people set their sites on working hard and having a family. 

 

BARRETT, Robert "Bob" - Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family at Hardy Terrace, Brantford, on Sunday July 30th 2017 at the age of 80.

The last surviving member of his siblings, Bob is pre-deceased by his sisters Christina (Robert) Gilroy, and Eleanor (Jim) Dunn, and his brothers Walter (Maime) Barrett, Finley, Gerry, Bud, Peter, Kevin, and Kenny. Cherished uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews.

 

Westermann JeanWESTERMANN, Dr. Jean Earldene (nee Mills) - Passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the age of 87 following a brief illness.

Beloved wife of the late Gerd Westermann (2014). Dear step-mother of Robert, Carola (Lee Chambliss) and Gerold (Laurie Columbus). Cherished grandmother of Tara, Campbell, Kevin, Robert, Ryan and Elizabeth.

Jean will be sadly missed by her brother Murray Mills (late Audrey) and his family Scott Mills (Patti), Catherine Mills Dailey (Darrell) and David Mills (Deanna). She will be fondly remembered by her great nieces and nephews and relatives in Germany.

Jean was a Biology Professor at McMaster University where she was admired and well-respected by many students even in her retirement.

 

DANBROOK, Ron - Passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Stedman Community Hospice.

Beloved husband of 49 years to Jane. Loving Dad of Nikki Danbrook-Youngblut (Terry) and Greg Danbrook (Marie Josée). Proud Grandpa of Kory, Morgan, Stephanie and Matthew.

Survived by his brothers Bill and Jim and his sister Debbie.

Jean was the beloved wife of the late Spyros Markou. Adoring mother of Christine and her husband Mark Greening. Caring grandmother to Christa (David) and Mitchell. Loved sister-in-law to Maria (the late Kostas) Deliakis, and the late Katie and Yakovo Hovanian.
