BONNELL, Noreen 'Kelly' Margaret (Callaghan) - On Thurs Oct 6, 2016, Kelly Bonnell, almost 90, died peacefully in the company of loved ones.

A long time Belleville resident, she lived the last four years in a retirement home in Ottawa.

Kelly, as she was known, was predeceased by her husband William Bonnell and her brothers David and Francis.

Noreen is survived by her brother Donald, her nieces Laurelle, Charmaine and Erin and her nephew, Randall.

In Ottawa, known as Nana Noreen, she enjoyed Laurelle's family. She will be greatly missed by Laurelle's husband Doug, their sons, Sean (Laura) and Justin (Meighan) and their grandchildren, Ellie, Harper and Cameron.

She began her work life at 16 as a clerk at Revenue Canada in Belleville, where she was one of the youngest retirees ever.

She and Bill built and sailed boats on the St Lawrence. Then, in the 70s , their built their beloved cottage, and cottage life became their lifestyle. She was a dedicated volunteer to many causes, most notably the Liberal Party of Canada and the SPCA.

Noreen's life was filled with the joy of participation; she played badminton, bridge, bowled, gardened, and never met a slot machine that she could not try to beat!

A service celebrating her life will be held on Friday October 14, 11:00 am at South Gloucester United Church, 2536 Rideau Road, Ottawa. Reception to follow.
