Pearson HaroldPEARSON, Harold John - WWII - Born October 15, 1919, was promoted to glory and into God’s care, peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2017.

Loving husband of the late Marjorie, a special war bride, predeceased by his eldest son, David in 2012, brothers Kenneth and Malcolm and parents Leonard and Grace.

Harold was a member of the 5th Canadian Armoured Division (Signals) and went overseas in November 1941. Harold and Marjorie met at a church function in Farmborough, England near where Harold was stationed at the Mons Barracks. They were married in Dartmouth, South Devon, in June 1945 and returned to Canada following the war.

Harold leaves his daughter Nadine Langlois (Michael Brennan), daughter-in-law Sue (the late David), and son Ron (Donna) of Kitchener.

Cherished and much loved grandfather of Shannon Corfield (Steve), Erin Metcalf (Curtis), Nat Pearson (Erin), Dan Langlois (Lindsay), Nick Pearson (Melissa Redmond) and Adam Pearson (Jennifer). Very proud great-grandfather of seventeen.

Harold always recalled with fondness hearing the Dutch people give thanks following the war when they were liberated. “We gather together to ask the Lord’s blessing and sing praises to His name, He forgets not his own”.

With special thanks to the staff at The Richmond Retirement Home who took such good care of Harold and to Dr. Robert Bates and so many friends and family who visited him.

Visitation from 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 24th with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 ‘noon, at the Salvation Army Community Church, 290 Bridge Street West, Belleville, ON.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Belleville Salvation Army Community Church would be appreciated by the family.
