SMITH, Allen - Of Belleville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the age of 85, on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Hastings Manor Long Term Care Facility.

Allen was born in Trenton, Ontario to Donald and Mabel (Passaw) Keating Smith.

Allen had been happily married to Helen (Snider) for 54 years before her passing in 2008.

He is survived by his two sons, John Keating and his wife Suzanne of Ottawa, ON and Rob Smith and his wife Leanne Lieberman, of Kingston, ON; and four grandchildren, Mitchell and Hannah Keating, and Makaio and Dassa Lieberman-Smith.

He enjoyed golf and spending summers at the family cottage with his children, grandchildren and friends. Allen was a kind and gentle man and never wanted any attention brought to him.

At his request, a private ceremony will be held in his honour.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of The Hastings Manor. Allen often expressed his gratitude for the care he received during his six year stay.
