Rice DavidRICE, David John - It is with great sadness and heartbreak we announce the passing of our father, David John Rice, 85 years old, a resident of Trent Valley Lodge, Trenton, Ontario, Canada, on October 10, 2017, after a long and valiant struggle with Cancer.

David was born in London, England February 17, 1932. He was a member of the British Air Force. He met his bride at age 16, got engaged at 20 and married at 22, June 6, 1954. He and Sylvia immigrated to Canada in 1956 and became Canadian citizens a few short years later.

They lived in Toronto, where they became homeowners and eventually parents. The family moved to Trenton, Ontario in 1969.

David retired from Moore Business Forms and enjoyed the life of a retired man by snowbirding in Florida for many years. He was an active walker as a member of the Volkssport walking club and loved to sail and cross country ski.

He always put his family first and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

David is predeceased by his wife of 63 years Sylvia Rice. He is survived by his children Elaine Duhon, and Adrian Rice. His granddaughters, Blair, Dayna, Kaila, Jessica and great-granddaughter Haven.

He will be remembered by his many friends from the Royal Canadian Legion and past co-workers.

Per David's wishes, cremation has take place. 

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in his name would be greatly appreciated by the family.

"Some people dream about meeting a Super Hero, we were lucky to be raised by ours".
