For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

KONING, Jan 'John' - Entered into rest at the Trenton Memorial Hospital surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.

John Koning of Carrying Place in his 89th year.

Son of the late Willem and Harmke (Siccama) Koning.

Beloved husband of Audrey (van der Meulen) Koning.

Loved father of Walter (Linda) Koning of Carrying Place, Christy (Mike) Baker of Waterloo, Margaret Koning of Picton, and Robert (Stacey) Koning of Carrying Place.

Survived by sisters Rens (late Willem) Riemersma of the Netherlands, Alice (Lambert) Veltman-Banga of Carrying Place and predeceased by brother Ouwe (Lyda) Koning.

Loving grandfather of Eric, Byron, Simon, Daryl, Ryan, Andrew and Margaret's children.

The family will receive friends at the Ebenezer Christian Reformed Church, 18 Fourth Avenue, Trenton, on Monday, February 12th, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Memorial Service will be held in the Church on Tuesday, February 13th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Marc Hoogstad officiating. Interment at a later date.

If desired, Memorial Donations to the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation or the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
