For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Shaw EileenSHAW, Eileen Ruby (nee Hagerman) - Passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side after many years in Westgate Lodge on Wednesday February 7, 2018 at the age of 102 years.

Loving wife of the late Hugh T. Shaw.

Cherished mother of Warren (Cheryl), Ralph (Susan), Bob (Joyce) and Mary Jane MacKinnon (Jeff).

Sadly missed by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Eileen is survived by her sister Evelyn Ball (the late Gord) and her brother in law Fred Chapman.

She is predeceased by her sister Rita Chapman, her daughter in law Cathy Shaw and her parents Jesse & Florence Hagerman.

She is fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends.

Eileen's family will be forever grateful for the loving care and support given and shown by all the staff at Westgate Lodge.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre would be appreciated by the family.
