We Regret to Announce That We Have Had to Discontinue

For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Sponsors are welcome to participate and support HastingsObituaries.com by advertising (i.e., local funeral centres, cemeteries, monument suppliers or local businesses, ...we would also include your Banners and Direct Links to your websites) – please  contact us for info!

Participating Funeral Centres will be prominently Featured; within their Region, and within the Obituary Notices, including Links redirecting viewers to your Websites.

We are continuing to publish notices to DurhamObituraies.com …  and also for now, TorontoObituaries.com and HaltonObituaries.com

Thank you for visiting our website.
We plan to have the 9 other Regional Websites back on-line soon!

She was a nurse graduate at the Brockville Psychiatric Hospital in 1957 and has been part of the Brockville Psychiatric Hospital Nurses Alumni.

Predeceased by her dear husband, Robert (Bob) Fingland.

Loving mother to Douglas Fingland of Deseronto and Deborah Fingland (David Bourgeois) of Belleville.

Predeceased by her parents, John (Jack) & Verna Berry (nee Brown).

Dear sister to Doreen Richmond (late Alan); Betty Berry (late Bill McKay); late Darrell (Sonny) Berry (Ann & late Marla); late Ronald Berry (Helen); Jackie (Jack) Berry (Jeanette); late Linda Berry; Faye Berry (Duke Meijer); Philip Berry (Lynne); Marlene Chapman (Gordon) and Keith Berry (Lee Gibbs).

Sadly missed by Bob's family, her many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.

Sincere thank you to Ralph & Ealaine Lawlor for their friendship and support to our family over the years. Also, to Laurie who is like a sister (daughter) to our family.

Verna will be cremated and as a request of the family there will be no visitation or service. A celebration of her life with family and close friends will be held at a later date.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Lennox & Addington County Hospital in Napanee in memory of Verna.

We would like to thank Dr. Reynolds and also to Dr. Andrews, Dr. Robichaud, the wonderful nurses & staff at the Lennox & Addington County Hospital for their care and support to our mom and family. They are truly amazing people.
