Bierema JacobaBIEREMA, Jacoba Anna Roelfina 'Anne' (nee Verlind) - It is with sadness that the family Anne Bierema announces her passing on October 30, 2017 after a courageously-fought battle with cancer.

Anne was born in Wassenaar, the Netherlands, in 1940 and moved to Canada with her family in 1951. After stays in Halifax and Quebec, the family settled in Agincourt, Ontario and it was there a few years later that she met Sam, her future husband.

They were married in 1962 and moved to Mount Albert and then to the farm in Zephyr where they raised two children – Jerry (Maureen) of Toronto and Betty Laxson (Gord) of Utterson. She was grandmother to Laura (Luc), Christopher and Lennox (Kerry) and great-grandmother to Starla.


Reeds MildredREEDS, Mildred Ailane (Hart) - Entered peacefully into rest at Caressant Care McLaughlin on Monday October 30th, 2017 in her 87th year.

Mildred Hart, the beloved wife of the late Robert Pritchard Reeds (2004). Loving mother of Wade and his wife Barbara and Jerry and his partner Michelle. Cherished grandmother of Kristyne, Mellissa Reeds (Harvey Bradley), Marnie (Aaron) Walsh, T.J. (Jacquie) Reeds, Jeremy (Sara) Reeds and Ashleigh. Sadly missed by 8 great-grandchildren.

Mildred was predeceased by her sister Valeria Endicott and brothers Lloyd and Ken Hart.

Tavaszi PaulTAVASZI, Paul - Passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017.

Paul achieved the immigrant’s dream of making a better life for himself and his family in a beautiful and welcoming land he was proud to call home.

He was born in the pastoral village of Pesthidegkut in the hills northwest of Budapest, Hungary on January 19, 1928, the sixth of seven children, only four surviving into adulthood. War disrupted his carefree childhood, and when he was sixteen, he was snatched off the street by a passing army unit, and pressed into military service. Sent to Poland with a gun and no training, he was soon a prisoner of the Russians. Wounded and living in appalling conditions, he was lucky to survive.

Cherished grandfather of Erin, Jeff, Alison (Evan) and Ben (Robin). Great grandfather of Courtnee, Brad, Cody, Jasper, Solomon, Aleric, Quincy, Henry and Evelyn.

Edward (Ted) Howard, loving husband of the late Wilma (Dyer) both of Toronto, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2017 at Victoria Manor in Lindsay, Ontario.

Ted had an enormous love of family. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and tennis, had a keen interest in history and was an avid reader. Ted lived life to the fullest, making a positive impact on everyone in his life. Intelligence, determination and a wonderful sense of humour were his gifts which he used generously to touch everyone's hearts. He will be missed.
