Irwin CatherineIRWIN, Catherine Alberta Mary - On Friday, May 12, 2017 in North York, Ontario - a beautiful, sunny day - Catherine Alberta Mary Irwin, of Oakwood, passed away in the spring of her 98th year.

Predeceased by parents Catherine (Jewell) and Colin Campbell; brothers Mac and Jack Campbell.

Loving mother to Kay and Kay’s late husband Tony Popiel, and proud grandmother to Natasha (Mike Brock), Alexandra and Nicholas, Catherine spent her last decade close to her family, entertained and emboldened by her great grandsons Holden and Bodhi Brock.

She was born on March 27, 1920 a farm girl and retired a respected social worker in the Lindsay area. She led a life that was simple, but not easy. Catherine was a friend whose bright eyes and sweet smile will be missed around the card table on Balsam Lake.

Visitation at Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Tuesday, May 16 from 12:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow the reception at Eden Cemetery, Cambray.

In lieu of flowers, Catherine asked that donations be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
