Tom was the beloved husband of Gloria Nichols. Loving father of Mary Grills (Wayde Gale), Dean Grills, Terry Grills (Suzanne), Chris Grills (Lynn), Cindy Grills (Michel Crepeau), and Jeremy Grills (Crystal). Cherished grandfather of 18 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

Walter retired from LCVI in June, 2016 after 28 years of teaching - he was enjoying every moment of his retirement.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 38 years, Kelly Lynch and his cherished daughter, Ali. Walt leaves behind his sisters Krista (Miguel) and Karen and his Lynch sisters in law; Mary, Ann (Zare), Susan (Scott) and Jane, and his brother in law Peter Lynch. Walter will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, who all adored him.

DYKE, Robert Bright Davey - On January 30, 2017, Robert Bright Davey Dyke passed away with his wife, Penny, and son Braden, by his side.
Robert was a conservation officer for more than 30 years, with much of his work taking place in Kawartha Lakes. He loved his job. He was committed, with his fellow colleagues, to preserve fish and wildlife as well as focused on ways to protect sensitive and vital environmental areas. Good work. Good man.

MEDLAND, William Russell - (Known to many as 'Bacardi Bill,' he retired from Bacardi Canada 1993)
After a very long battle, Bill peacefully found his rest on January 28, 2017 at the age of 85 with his loving family and friends by his side.
He was born and raised in Toronto and resided with his parents and grandparents on Degrassi Street. His love of Marching Bands began at the age of four when he marched in his first Twelfth Parade with his father Syd who played the snare-drum with Prince of Orange OYB 291.
Bill continued on to play flute in the Dian Juvenile Flute Band from 1941-1947, Tobermore Flute Band 1947-1960. "Sons of Derry Flute Band" (currently Derry Flute Band) 1966-1994, serving as Band Master for several years. In 1994 he began the Haliburton Highlands Silver Flutes and in 2007, Bill received a Governor General's Award for Caring Canadians for his dedication and volunteerism with the Haliburton Silver Flutes.
JANKE, Rudolph 'Rudy' Ferdinandt - At home, with his family by his side, Rudy passed away on Friday, January 27th, 2017 in his 85th year.
He will be missed by his wife, Ruth (nee Graham) and his 7 children; Terry (Sherriann), Darrell (Laura), Linda (Cameron), Colleen (Greg), Paula (Rob), Derek (Susan), and Heidi (Joe). He will be fondly remembered by his 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and counting!

Margaret was born on January 5th, 1926 in Portadown, Northern Ireland, the only daughter of Francis and Margaret (nee O’Donnell) McAree.
Predeceased by her three brothers Frank (killed in WWII), Edward (heart attack at age 42) and Dr. Christopher (heart attack at age 82).
Loving wife for 56 years of Daniel Shutka, decorated War Hero and retired School Principal (passed March 9th, 2002).

Ted was the beloved son of the late Vernon and Hazel Saulter and the cherished brother of Ray Saulter (predeceased), Joan Harrison (Sherman) and Beth Bovie (predeceased). Uncle Ted will be greatly missed by his 7 nieces and nephews and his many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by nephew Allan Harrison.
In his life, Ted struggled with severe illness and great loss and though he couldn't speak out loud, his gigantic spirit, kindness and friendship spoke volumes to those who knew him and those he met.
