Tarleton ShirleyTARLETON, Shirley (nee McCracken) - Resident of Haliburton, Ontario. Peacefully passed away with her family by her side on Thursday afternoon, October 13, 2016 in her 83rd year.

Beloved wife and best friend of William (Bill) Tarleton for over 38 years. Loving mother of Cheryl. Predeceased by her son Butch.

Also lovingly remembered by her brothers Bob, Norm and sister Faith. Also lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Shirley enjoy singing, was involved in Community Care, worked with Gord Kydd and had an amazing sense of humour and had a wonderful smile.

 

Geary MaryGEARY, Mary Eadie (née KERRY)  - Daughter of Arthur Kerry and Annie Coats. Passed away suddenly at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre in her 81st year on Wednesday, October 12, 2016.

Mary was the beloved wife of George Sr., in their 63 years of marriage.

Mary was the cherished mother of William (Patricia), Dorothy (Ralph Ditchburn), Stephen (Nancy) and predeceased by the late George Jr. and Rosemary.

 

DeRusha JohnDeRUSHA, John Howard – Entered into rest peacefully with his family by his side, on Tuesday, October 11th, 2016 in his 85th year.

John was the beloved husband of Barbara DeRusha in their 58 years of marriage. Son of the late Laurine DeRusha (Norton).

He was the loving father of David DeRusha (Donna) and the cherished grandfather of Danielle and her husband Christopher Parker and Jeffrey and his wife Ashley DeRusha.

Proud Poppa of Olivia Parker.  John is survived by his step-sister Beverley DeRusha (Peter Kirk).

 

Tunstell LoreneTUNSTELL, Lorene Mae - (September 19, 1932 - October 11, 2016) -

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 surrounded by her family. Lorene Tunstell of Lindsay, Ontario was in her 85th year.

Lorene graduated St. Michael's Nursing School, Toronto in 1954. She married Kelly Tunstell on November 13, 1954 and they celebrated 61 years of marriage together.

Lorene is the loving mother of Cathy (Lucien Chouinard), Patrick Tunstell (Connie), Paul Tunstell and Kelly Bastarache.  Treasured Nana of Michelle, Louis ( predeceased, 1997) Danielle, Maegan, Cody, Shelby, Tyler, Gavin, Erica and great-grandmother of Max, Owen, Cullen, Colbie, Ryder.

 

Redner MichaelREDNER, Michael Dennis Mervin - Passed away at the Haliburton Hospital on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at the age of 44.

Beloved son of Carolyn (nee Johnston) and the late Bradley Redner. Dear brother of Jason and uncle to Rebecca.

John worked for Kodak Canada for many years. He enjoyed his retirement years in Haliburton, curling, square dancing, golfing and boating. He could fix almost anything, and loved the challenge.

Beloved son of the late James and Anna Jemmett.

Laurinavicius BobLAURINAVICIUS, Boleslovas 'Bob' – Passed away peacefully at the Ross Memorial Hospital on Saturday, October 8th, 2016 in his 92nd year.

Beloved husband of Flo (nee Corrick) for 41 years. Loving father of Paul (Aurelie) and step-father of Barbara Bedley (David) and Bobby Graham.

Adored by his 5 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Bob will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his surviving family in Lithuania, four sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as all who knew him. 

 

Adamson LoisADAMSON, Lois Mary (nee Hanna) - (August 1, 1922 - October 8, 2016) - Passed away peacefully at Lookout Ridge Retirement Home, Fonthill, in her 95th year in the presence of her family.

Beloved wife of Sydney for 62 years. Also survived by her sister, Elva (Gavin), sons Frank (Judith), Fred, Lloyd (Cindy) and by daughter Jean (Pauline), (Rob Clark). 

Predeceased by her son Brian her father Henry and mother Faye, brothers Kenny, Harold and Val, stepdaughter Brenda (Fred)and grandson Adam Clark. 

 

Cook TomCOOK, Thomas 'Tom' - Entered into rest at Royal Gardens, Peterborough on Friday, October 7th, 2016 although he had been a proud Lindsay resident for most of his life.

Tom was in his 100th year and was predeceased by Phyllis, his wife of 65 years, his eldest daughter Sharon Woolsey, his parents Philomene and William Cook, siblings Kathleen Begley (Norbert), Leona Tully (Vincent) and Flight Sgt Leo Cook (RCAF Hanover 1943).

He was the much loved father of Sharon Woolsey (Gord), Kathy Pakenham (Bob), Susan Hamer (David) and Leo Cook (Leslie). Tom was the fun-loving Grandpa of Taryn and Chris Woolsey, Susie Pakenham (Matt MacKinnon) Carrie Hamer-Jonkhout  (Jason Jonkhout) and Laura Hamer. Great-grandsons David and John MacKinnon were a great source of new entertainment.

Tom was a 1939-1945 Veteran of the Royal Canadian Army and was a signalman serving in the Italian Campaign. This undoubtedly helped to form a philosophy resonating to life’s close, that he would “live till I die and die when I can’t help myself."

 

Merryman MargaretMERRYMAN, Margaret Evelyn (Mallory) - Better known to her friends as "Bootie", passed away October 7th, 2016 in Durham, North Carolina, at the age of 95.

Margaret's husband, George, was the manager of the Union Carbide plant in Lindsay.

She was active with the Fortnightly Club and the Rotary Anns. While in Lindsay the family attended Cambridge Street United Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, 3 1/2 months ago.

 

Duval TheresaDUVAL, Theresa Isabelle (Roi) - (July 19, 1921 ~ October 6, 2016) - Passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay.

Predeceased by her husband Ellery Joseph Duval (1997).

Loving mother of Patsy & Neil, Roger & Bernice, Jim & Liz, Gary & Louise and Martin. Loving grandmother of Shawn & Nicky, Aaron, Tracy & Julie, Ryan & Jena, Sara & Chris and 10 Great Grandchildren.

Dear sister of Olive Brunelle, Velma Lalonde, and brother Jim, the late brother Armos and sister Zita Chevrette.

 

Reed BillREED, William Albert ‘Bill’ - (July 30, 1958 ~ October 5, 2016) - Bill passed peacefully at home as he wished in his 59th year. 

He is survived by his wife Kim McAuley, daughter Megan McAuley, mother Marie Reed, his sisters Carol-Ann Sedgwick (Ron), Donnalee Queen and Shelly Lucas (Steve). Predeceased by his father Robert 'Bob' Lloyd Reed.

Missed by mother-in-law Shelly McAuley and in-laws Tracy and Ron Kippen, Greg and Charlene McAuley and many nieces and nephews.

Bill had 33 years service at General Motors in the truck plant and retired in 2008. He enjoyed his retirement years living and boating on Lake Scugog.

 

WHITE, Ida Elizabeth - (August 3, 1926 - October 4, 2016) - On Tuesday October 4, 2016, Ida passed while asleep at Frost Manor in Lindsay Ontario.

Adored wife for 57 years of the late Ross White.

Loving Mother to Terry White (Simon  Moore), Patti (Lyndsay) Hull, and Leslie (Chris) MacLaren.  Grandma will always be remembered by Shayne MacLaren (Pat McGee), Colin (Leah) MacLaren, Amanda MacLaren (Dan Dole), Morgan (Mariela) Hull, Laura Hull, Chris Hull, and Geoff Hull.  A great grandmother of Ryan, Brody, and Alison MacLaren, and Noah Hull.

Ida will never be forgotten by her sisters Bernicee (Peter) Pew, and Joyce (late Peter) Porter. Ida was predeceased by her siblings Emma Reddock, Eva Crush, Laura Hahn, Carlyle Hyatt, Shirley Lemke, and John Hyatt.

Son of the late Harold Anderson Peattie and Jessie (Stewart).

Beloved husband of the late Marion.

 

Rider Lillian LindaRIDER, Lilian 'Linda' May - Born in London, England and emigrated to Canada in 1949, passed away peacefully, surrounded with love and her family by her side at the Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Orillia on Monday, October 3, 2016.

Lilian, at the age of 96, is now reunited with her beloved husband, the late Earl Rider.

Loving mother of Elaine (Ian) Munro and Cynthia Rider. Adored grandmother of Andrew, Ainsley, Emily and Courtney. Predeceased by her parents, brother and sisters and will be missed by her niece, nephew and extended families.

Beloved wife of Ralph Young for 45 years and predeceased by her first husband Richard Peacock (1969).

Dear mother of Ted (Donna) of Warsaw, David (Marjorie) of Minden, Perry (Diane) of Lochlin, Randy (Tammy) of Orillia and predeceased by her son Robert (1951).  Loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. 

Beloved daughter of the late Robert and Charlotte Hughes. Dear sister of Lylia Shaw, predeceased by Margaret, Charlien, Arnold, Ruby, Leonard, Norman, Myrtle, Willie, Gordon, Hilda and Nora.

 

Wood GordonWOOD, Gordon Fraser - A family man, always available to help where help was needed. He was generous and kind, and a man of few words. A true gentleman.

Gordon entered into rest peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Sunday, October 2nd, 2016 at the age of 81. 

Gordon was the beloved husband of the late Grace (2009). Loving father of Barb and her husband Gord Rossiter, Kim and her husband Dave Marsh, Rodney and his wife Arlene and Randy and his wife Tracy.

 

Campbell MurrayCAMPBELL, Murray Bruce - (October 3, 1936 - October 1, 2016) - Peacefully in his sleep at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay just two days shy of his 80th birthday.

Murray was the loving husband for 57 years to Ruth Larraine Campbell (nee Sears) of Bobcaygeon. Dear father of Karen and her husband Ed Dudman of Fenelon Falls and Angela and her husband Al Rice of Palmerston.

Adored grandfather (Boppa) of Amanda (Jason) Bush, Matt Dudman, Sierra Campbell (Cam Ellis) and Jayden Campbell, Talon Rice.

Predeceased by his brother-in-law Asa (Grace Sears. Remembered by many nieces and nephews.

 

Switzer DorothySWITZER, Dorothy Kathleen (nee Adams) – Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Victoria Manor, Lindsay.  Dot (née Adams), in her 96th year.

The beloved wife of the late Robert Switzer (1979). 

Loving mother of Lorraine Stratton (Ken), Ellen Zealand (Clark), Olive Bastion (the late Gordon) and the late Doreen Switzer.  Cherished Gran of 8 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. 

She is survived by her brother Peter Adams, and is predeceased by 3 sisters and 9 brothers.
