Driver BarbDRIVER, Barbara Heather 'Barb,' RN - After a valiant battle with cancer, Barb passed away at home on October 5, 2017 at the age of 81 years.

Barb was a nurse for 36 years and avid volunteer with Sherwood Park Manor Auxiliary, Genealogical Society and the Brockville Figure Skating Club.

Deeply missed by her husband Lawrence (Larry), children Dale (Kate), Heather and Laurie (Bill) Purtell, grandchildren Jacob and Nathan Driver and Sarah Purtell (Tyler), step granddaughter Katelyn, great grandchildren Liam, Aidan and Zoë, and brother James (Jim) Dack.

Predeceased by her parents Florence (Goldie) and Elmer Dack and by her grandson Aaron Purtell.


Blanchard InaBLANCHARD, Ina Armina (Tackaberry) - Retired public school teacher, Ina Armina Blanchard (Tackaberry) passed away at the Brockville General Hospital on October 5, 2017 after a short illness.

She was born in the Brockville General Hospital on March 24, 1925, the only child of George Tackaberry and his wife Olla Conner.

She was educated in the local schools and attended Ottawa Teacher’s College, then taught for 40 years for the Leeds and Grenville Board. During that time she was an Associate Teacher with the Ottawa Teacher’s College and took many students for practice teaching.

In 1948 she married Wilton Blanchard they settled in Addison where they raised their children and lived until his death August 12, 1997.


WHITE, Dustin -  (1976 - 2017) - It is with a broken heart that I announce the passing of Dustin on October 5, 2017 at the Kingston General Hospital.

Dustin was born March 22, 1976 and he was the son of Freda Clarke and Nolan White.

He had two sisters Colleen and Holly who he refused to acknowledge.

Greene DouglasGREENE, Douglas Gordon - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Gordon Greene with his daughter by his side at the Saint John Regional Hospital on October 5, 2017.

He was born in Saint John, NB on May 1, 1942 and was the son of the late Corey and Sadie (Carson) Greene. He is survived by his 2 daughters; Cynthia (Chris) and Sherri, 3 grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Rebecca and Jonathan, brother Donald (Sandra) Greene, many great nephews and great nieces and one great great niece.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Raymond.

Douglas was a long haul trucker who divided his time living in both Saint John, NB and Kingston, ON.

Darcy is survived by Celine (O'Neill), his wife of 57 years; sons Patrick (Lynda) and Leo (Brenda); five wonderful grandchildren, Matthew (Britania), Katelyn, Lyndsey, Dylan (Jessica) and Wyatt; two amazing great-granddaughters Chloe and Avery; his brothers Michael and Bernard (Patricia) of Kingston, and his sister Frances Dimond (Frank) of Niagara Falls, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ruth is predeceased by her beloved husband Ronald L. Jensen.

She is the loving mother of Sharon (Fabien) of Kingston, ON, Gordon ( Donna) of Orleans, ON, Virginia of Orleans, ON and Matthew of South Bank, B.C. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is the elder sister of William (Judy) of Appleton, ON.

Smillie RaymondSMILLIE, William 'Raymond' Dunsmuir - Passed away on October 4, 2017 in his 70th year after a brief, but brave battle with cancer. Raymond died peacefully with his wife, Barbara and dear friend Bob, by his side.

Raymond proudly served a 4-year term in the Royal Canadian Navy and, as a police officer with the Ontario Provincial Police for 30 years (retired).

A devoted husband of 51 years and loving father to daughter Kimberly Ann (Kevin) and son William "Aaron" Sean Dunsmuir. Loving grandfather to Kerreena (Chris),Jordon and Kayla, great grandchildren Kale and Jaxon.

Gazeley CharlesGAZELEY, Father Charles Hilliard 'Chuck' - Father Charles Gazeley passed away at Kingston General Hospital on October 4, 2017, just four days short of his 86th birthday.

He was born in Kingston, Ontario, on October 8, 1931, the son of Charles Gazeley and Genevieve Morris. He attended St. Mary’s School and Regiopolis College, Kingston, the University of Toronto, and St. Augustine’s Seminary.

He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Kingston on May 4, 1958, at St. John the Apostle church in Kingston.

From 1958-1959, he served as Associate Pastor at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Kingston; from 1959-1964, as Associate Pastor at St. Francis Xavier Parish, Brockville; and, from 1964-1983, as Associate Pastor at St. Joseph Parish in Belleville. While in Belleville, Father Gazeley taught for 20 years at Nicholson Catholic College.

McAvoy PaulMcAVOY, Father Paul James - Father Paul McAvoy passed away peacefully at Providence Manor, Kingston, Ontario, on Sunday morning, October 1, 2017, in his 89th year.

He was born in Brockville, Ontario, on August 17, 1929, the son of Dr. James McAvoy and Carmel Cavanagh.

He attended St. Francis Xavier Separate School, Brockville; Regiopolis College, Kingston; and St. Patrick High School, Ottawa.He entered St. Augustine's Seminary, Toronto, in 1950, and was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Kingston on May 26, 1957, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Kingston.
