She will be sorely missed by her adoring husband Andrew, her two sons, Iain (Peri), Andy (Diane) and her much loved grandchildren Andrew (Phoebe), Jamie (Lisa), Matthew (Sarah) and her “adopted” son Gregor (Debbie).

Margaret was a wonderful wife, lover and best friend to Andrew and guided and supported the family through all of their moves.

She was born in Aberdeen, Scotland to James and Mary Jane Gordon and educated in Aberdeen. In Canada (Kingston, Montreal and Toronto) she participated actively in Andrew’s Urological practice and was very active in the Kingston and Toronto Auxillary.

Meisner LarryMEISNER, Edward Lawrence 'Larry' - (June 9, 1949 - October 20, 2017) - While holding a picture of his grandson in his hand, and surrounded by his family at his bedside Larry passed away at the Kingston General Hospital.

Larry is survived by his wife Linda (nee Bawtinheimer) of 46 years his daughter Nancy, son Shawn, daughter-in law Melissa and his most precious grandson Payton.

He is the son of Edward (deceased) and Edna Meisner of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. He is survived by his sister Diane Fava of Keswick Ontario, brother Arnold of Eastville Col Co Nova Scotia, predeceased by brother Michael and half sister Kathleen Flynn. He will be remembered by several nieces and nephews.

Larry was a proud member of the Air Force for 31 years and also Legion member of branch 137 Napanee.

KIRK, Flora Ellen - Her sunrise was November 15, 1916, and she slipped quietly with dignity into the sunset on October 19, 2017, (28 days from her 101st birthday), with family at her side.

Mom was the epitome of warmth, generosity and love. She lived her life with joy and humour and always had a witty, quick comeback when talking with family.

She was a good Mom and taught us what unconditional love was, manners, right from wrong, and how to spell. Mom said hard work will never kill you and she was a good example. This is how we will remember her.

Johnson JimJOHNSON, James William 'Jim' - Died peacefully in his sleep October 17th, 2017, 10 days after his 77th birthday.

After years of health issues, Jim and his wife Bonnie recently relocated to Kingston to be closer to his daughters, Jana and Krista, and granddaughter Ayla. He was on a bit of an upswing, so his death was unexpected at this time, but going to sleep in your own bed and not waking up seems to be a blessing.

Jim was born outside of Thunder Bay, and was raised as a First Generation Canadian in Fort William; his mother being from England and his father from Sweden.

 

Hanna BillHANNA, George William 'Bill' - George William (Bill) Hanna passed away peacefully in his 87th year on October 17, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at The Lennox and Addington County General Hospital in Napanee, Ontario.

Though cancer was involved, Bill died of a broken heart, after having lost his wife of sixty-seven years this spring. Bill was a devoted husband to Betty and, after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's more than a decade ago, he dedicated the remainder of his life to caring for the woman who had cared for him and his family for so long. He said numerous times throughout Betty's battle with Alzheimer's that his job was to survive long enough to see her off.

After completing that mission with dignity and honour, Bill left the rest of us here so he could go join her.

We lost a true Canadian icon, talented poet and musician.

His words and lyrics spoke to everyone, coast to coast and across the miles.

A man who was so proud of his children and his family.

His support of our friends in the North and his story of Chanie Wenjack touched the lives of so many.

Through the past two years, Gord’s dedication to this cause never wavered and his legacy is left with the knowledge to continue with his work.

 

Webber MichaelWEBBER, Michael Henry Fairfax, C.D. - BGen (Retired) - RC Sigs Michael Webber died peacefully at home in Ottawa, on Monday, October 16, 2017 in the company of family.

Michael was born in Kings Lynn, England, January 29, 1919, the only child of Harold Fairfax and Edith (nee Proctor) Webber. As an infant, he emigrated with his mother to Ottawa, rejoining his father who had preceded them as a returning World War I veteran. As the child of a career army officer he lived in Kingston, Toronto, Camp Borden, and finally back to Ottawa.

In 1937 Michael entered a four-year course of study at Royal Military College of Canada, cadet #2612, with the aim of pursuing a military career. In 1939 his studies were interrupted by the outbreak of World War II. He accepted a commission as Lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals.
