TULCHINSKY, Gerald Jacob Joseph 'Jerry'  - (Professor Emeritus – Queen’s Department of History) - Born September 9, 1933 in Brantford, Ontario. Educated at the University of Toronto and McGill University.

After a lengthy illness, Jerry passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. 

Jerry taught history to generations of students at Queen’s from 1966 until 1999, and was director of Jewish Studies after he retired from the history department. As a scholar, Jerry authored a number of books on topics of business history and Canadian Jewish history.

 

Gabriel BruceGABRIEL, Vernon 'Bruce' - (1940 - 2017) - It is with great sadness that we report the death of our precious husband and father, Bruce Gabriel. He died of a heart attack as a resident on the dementia unit on Parkside 2 at Providence Care Hospital on the morning of December 13, 2017.

Bruce was born on March 7, 1949. He was the middle of five children in a loving family, and family would become his foremost pleasure for the duration of his life. He was married to Debbie Radloff, the love of his life, for 42 years and was blessed with the arrivals of daughter Kaili and son Bryn.

Born in Toronto, the 3rd son of British immigrants, George Aloysius and Annie Mabel (nee Peters), also pre-deceased by siblings Audrey, Roland and Jim.

Bill graduated from the University of Toronto in the early 50s and began what was to be a short career as an electrical engineer with Westinghouse.

During his time at UofT, Bill discovered faith in Jesus Christ and his love for God and deep sense of gratitude became the deeply rooted center of and purpose for his life.
