For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Phyllis passed away at her home in Napanee on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the age of 77.

Phyllis leaves three children to mourn her; Sherry (Jim) Beattie of Erinsville; Tim (Mary-Anne) Alkenbrack of Calgary and Scott (Laurie) Alkenbrack of Calgary.

My father, known as Don or Donnie, was born in Kingston in 1932.

He was the son of the late Capt. W.P.G. Gray and Marguerite Jamieson and the youngest brother to Heather (d.), Patricia (d.), Ross (d.)(Irene Bird), William (Mary Myers), Peggy (George Murray) and Bette (Jake Fowler), all originally of Kingston.

He had many nieces, nephews and cousins.

MacKenzie EllenMacKENZIE, Ellen (Walsh) - Age 94, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2018. 

Born and raised in Yorkton, SK, Ellen was a daughter of the late Mary (Toner) and William Walsh.

Ellen was a stenographer for the federal government in Ottawa during WWII and later for the CPR express in Yorkton, SK.

Evert Van Bolhuis, at the age of 89 years.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Harmtien (Tina) Van Bolhuis.

 

Foster BarbaraFOSTER, Barbara Collier - Passed away on July 16, 2018.

Barbara was born on July 29, 1920; so like her mother, she lived almost 100 years.

Her parents were both of Scottish descent, her father (Colin Collier) via South Africa and her mother (Rebecca MacKenzie) a Gaelic-speaking native of Cape Breton Island.

Falkner CarolineFALKNER, Caroline Lesley - It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing after a brief illness of a much loved wife, mother, and grandmother: Caroline Lesley Falkner.

Caroline passed away peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the age of 74 with her family at her bedside.

Caroline leaves her husband, Derek, and four children to mourn her: Clare, David, Jennifer, and Philip.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden death of Michael “Mike” McAuley on Monday, July 16th, 2018 at 2:55 p.m.

Mike was the cherished son of Trish and Greg McAuley, beloved brother of Sarah McAuley and brother-in-law Josh Woods, high school sweetheart and lifelong partner of Lynne Mason, son-in-law to Karen and Phil Mason,  extremely proud and dedicated father to Zoe and Grady McAuley, brother-in-law to Jeff Mason (Karen Sisson) and adored uncle to McAuley “Mac” Woods, Audrey and George Mason.

Jones JamesJONES, James Peter - At the age of 87 years, passed away peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Saturday, July 14, 2018.

Beloved husband of Dorothy. Survived by son, Peter of Toronto, ON and grandson, Peter Michael Jones also of Toronto, ON.

Born in Lethbridge Alberta, James Peter Jones joined the RCMP and wore the red serge and Stetson before answering God's call to the ministry.

He met his wife Dorothy while studying in Montreal. They have two sons, David and Peter.
