CHAPMAN, Ennis - Passed away peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the age of 58.

Son of the late Ernest and Hazel Chapman. Dear brother of Eleanor Clow (Ray), John Reynolds (Vickie), Linda Chapman, Terry Levere, Nadine Chapman, Ernest Chapman (Debbie), Pat Chapman, Robert Chapman (Marion), Bernadine Chapman, James Chapman and Art Chapman (Jenna).

Also survived by his special friend Lynne Sanderson and her children Jessie and Dani; by Pete Curry and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Earl and a sister Rita.


Vanston JayneVANSTON, Jayne (Poelstra) - Passed away at the St. Lawrence Lodge on Friday, November 17, 2017. Jayne (Poelstra) Vanston, at the age of 76 years.

Beloved wife of the late Eric Vanston.

Jayne is survived by her children Nadine of Alberta and Trever of BC; step-children Kevin and Charlotte of BC and by several grandchildren.

Dear sister of Jan Poelstra, Shirley Hammel, Ann Verbaas, Lyzbeth Kahn and Nellie Webster. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.


Corrigan JoeCORRIGAN, Joseph William 'Joe' - On Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the age of 44 years.

To Jennifer Brownlee, he was the love of her life and loving father of Carson and Olivia.

Beloved son of Mary Jane and the late Dennis Corrigan.

Passed away at Carveth Care Centre in Gananoque on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at the age of 95 years. 

Born in Rockport, ON, eldest son of the late Verny and Helena (Slate) MacDonald. 

Also predeceased by his cherished wife Lelia “Lee” (Potts) RN; dear companion Violet Kernell; much loved brothers and sister Alfred, Jack, and Roberta.


Marion AlmaMARION, Alma Marion - (1926 - 2017) - Succumbed after a long struggle with undefeatable dementia on November 16, 2017.

She was a gorgeous singer/actress with 100’s of performances in the “KING AND I”, in London UK. She met and spoke with the Queen three times and danced with Jordan’s King Hussein. She won three Senior Ladies Golf Club Championships.

She married Bob Marion and was a devoted wife, a warm loving mother and grandmother. Raising three beautiful, intelligent daughters – Kim (Rod), Joanne (Sheridan) and Lana (Bryan).

Loving and cherished wife of 55 years to Ray Whitelock of Arden.

Scott DeboraSCOTT, Debora Marianne 'Debbie' (nee Fleming) - (August 3, 1962 - November 16, 2017) - Passed away peacefully at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KGH) after a year long struggle with breast cancer.

Daughter of the late Harry and Syke Fleming of Amherst Island.

Debbie was a 32-year employee of the South East Community Care Access Centre.

Beloved wife of Alex Scott, cherished mother of Rachel and Rebecca Scott, loving sister to Larry Fleming (Lynn), David Fleming (Laurie), Wayne Fleming (Karen), and daughter-in-law of Janet Scott all of Amherst Island.

Beloved mother of Cassie Harvey, Myla Harvey-Shields and Kylee Harvey-Shields. Dear daughter of Debbie Ann Harvey. Much loved sister of Jason Harvey (Jennifer Fairman) and family, and Bonnie Armstrong.

She cherished her many friends, many times putting her friend’s needs ahead of her own. A very social person, Nahtashea loved spending time with her friends, and first and foremost her children, as they were the most important thing in her life. They gave purpose and meaning to her life.


Vanderhelm JoeVANDERHELM, Josephus Johannes 'Joe' - Peacefully at Providence Manor on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the age of 87.

He was born in Naaldwijk, The Netherlands on November 4, 1930. Joe was the third of 11 children. He, along with his first wife (Adriana) and 3 children emigrated to Kingston in 1959, and they later had 3 more children.

Joe worked at Providence Motherhouse (Heathfield) for 34 years as gardener and maintenance man. After his retirement Joe travelled to: Alaska, Austria, England, The Netherlands, and Hawaii. He enjoyed dancing, gardening, playing card games and billiards. Joe's later life was enhanced by the love and friendship of his partner Beverly Walker.


James CarlJAMES, Carl David - Passed away peacefully at the Kingston Health Science Centre on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at the age of 73 years.

Beloved husband of the late Dianne Astleford James and dear father of Terry and his wife Amanda (nee Lawson).

Brother of Dorothy Alguire (Robert deceased), Dale James, Barry James (Margaret), Colleen Gray (Paul), Janice McNish (Jeff), Richard James (Jamie) and Brenda James (Joe Finucan).


McCreary Bruce MCCREARY, Dr. Bruce David - Passed away at Kingston General Hospital on November 15, 2017. He was 78.

Raised on a farm near Smiths Falls, Ontario, a summer job at the Rideau Regional Centre led to a lifelong passion for working with the developmentally disabled.

Bruce attended Queen’s University for medical school and pursued a residency in psychiatry. There he met his wife Carolyn and they began their life together. Bruce was committed to his patients and their families and conducted clinics across eastern Ontario for 50 years, as well as at home in Kingston.

Predeceased by his loving wife of 70 years, Geertruida “Gertrude” (Van der Helm).

Case was born on June 5, 1918 in Stompwijk, Holland. Case completed his business school studies in Holland, enjoyed playing foot-ball, operated a milk delivery service with his brothers and served in the Dutch army reserves.

TURNER, Mary Jean “Jeannie” (nee Elvins) - January 11, 1941 - November 15, 2017 - Jeannie passed away peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital after a brave fight with cancer and COPD.

She had loving family at her bedside, husband Rod, sons Blaine (Marla) and Chad, Granddaughter Jade and family, her sister Marg, brother Ted and nephew Scott.

Jeannie leaves behind her loving husband Rod, loving sons Blaine (Marla), Chad.

Cherished grandmother to Jade, Logan and her step-grandchild Jarrod.

Doreen was born in, Burnaby, BC in 1924 and died peacefully in Kingston on Monday, November 13, 2017, in her 94th year.

Doreen, beloved wife of Ron (2009).  She will be sadly missed by her children Arlene (the late Wilf), Carol (Jack) and Greg (Lynn), her grandchildren Charles (Allison), Matthew (Alison), Patrick (Jenny), Andrew (Kathryn), Amy, Chris and Nicholas, her five great grandchildren Jonah, Dylan, Aurora, Camilla and Emilia and by her extended family Mike and Judy Johannes.
