Bennett VictorBENNETT, Victor Robert - It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of Victor Bennett, beloved husband and father, on August 9, 2017 at the age of 88, in Kingston, Ontario.

Born on December 13, 1928 in St. John’s, Newfoundland, to his parents Sydney and Winifred. Vic’s passion for Newfoundland, aviation, travel and business was surpassed only by his love and devotion for his family, and in particular, the love of his life Constance, and his wife of 62 years.

At the young age of 14, Vic began his first flying lessons. Eight years later he enlisted with the RCAF. The following year he attended McGill University graduating with a business degree and subsequently received a law degree at UBC where he served as President of the Undergraduate Law Society. He relocated to Montreal and began his long and illustrious career in the aviation industry.

Vic was President and then CEO of Innotech Aviation where he built a reputation as a leader in Canada’s private aircraft full service industry. Over the course of his career Vic was the recipient of numerous awards including being inducted into the Canadian Aviation Hall of Fame for his overall contributions to the aerospace industry.

Vic earned the respect and admiration of friends and colleagues for his integrity, professionalism and personality all of which contributed to his status as an ambassador to the Canadian aviation industry. In keeping with his commitment towards advancing business in the local community, Vic co-founded RELIK’s (Retired Entrepreneurs Living in Kingston) - a volunteer group dedicated to mentoring young entrepreneurs in the Kingston area.

Above all, family was everything to Vic. To his children, he was inspiring and instilled a passion for life. To his grandchildren, he was larger than life regaling them with his stories.

He will be sorely missed by his wife Constance and his four daughters Sydney (Kelly Reimer), Leslie (Gerry Macken), Joanna (Brian Grassby) and Alex (Rolf Langer) and his two sons Guy and Christian as well as his grandchildren Alessandra, Arianne, Bennett, Jenna, Tori, Andrew, Jamie, Alex, Elyse and Nicolette.
