BLANCHARD, Ina Armina (Tackaberry) - Retired public school teacher, Ina Armina Blanchard (Tackaberry) passed away at the Brockville General Hospital on October 5, 2017 after a short illness.
She was born in the Brockville General Hospital on March 24, 1925, the only child of George Tackaberry and his wife Olla Conner.
She was educated in the local schools and attended Ottawa Teacher’s College, then taught for 40 years for the Leeds and Grenville Board. During that time she was an Associate Teacher with the Ottawa Teacher’s College and took many students for practice teaching.
In 1948 she married Wilton Blanchard they settled in Addison where they raised their children and lived until his death August 12, 1997.
She enjoyed her children and much loved grandchildren and their activities. She was a member of the United Church R.W2,Q. Her many friends brought her much pleasure.
She is survived by her son David (Joanne) Blanchard of Addison, son in-law Michael Holowack of Brockville and close granddaughter Katie Blanchard and grandsons Aaron (Skyler) Blanchard, Greg and Andrew Holowack and sister in-law Ruth Blanchard.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Wilton, daughter Judith, her parents, and her dear aunt Ina Austin and brothers in-law Clarence and Wayne Blanchard.
In keeping with Ina’s wishes, a Private graveside service will be held at Glen Elbe Cemetery at a later date.
In memoriams to the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Arrangements entrusted with Judson funeral home, Odessa, Ontario.
