Nolan JamesNOLAN, James Martin, CA - Peacefully at Trillium Ridge on Tuesday January 9th, 2018, in his 87th year.

Beloved  husband of 63 years to Bernice.  Loving father of Michael (Brenda), James (Kimberley), Anne Marie Marion (Roch), Teresa Annette Schweitzer (Mark) and Mary Clare Burton (John).

He was the proud grandfather of Tyler (Amy) and Trevor (Marlee) Nolan, Matthew (Chelsea), Ryan and Caitlin Nolan, Nicole Marion-Patola (Aaron), Stephen Marion (Amy), Christopher Marion, Christina and Timothy Schweitzer, Thomas and Samantha Burton and his great grand-children: Bailey and Aiden Nolan and Nola Marion.

He is survived by his brother Eugene (the late Jackie).  Predeceased by his parents James and Clare, and his brothers Dennis (the late Frances) and Paul. Dear brother-in-law of Patricia Nolan, Hilda Jones (John), the late Herbert and Mary Sullivan, Allan Sullivan (Donna), Frances Thompson (John), and Joanne McAullife (Bill).  He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

James was born in Newmarket, Ontario and lived in Bradford, Ontario during his childhood. Following his marriage to Bunny they resided in Parry Sound, Brooklin, Lindsay and Kingston, Ontario.

James was a musician, accountant, and a gentleman. He played piano with his brothers in a band for many years and participated in other bands in the Lindsay area. Following their move to Lindsay where James operated the Credit Bureau, he became very active in the Lindsay Chamber of Commerce.

During this time James wanted to do more, so he began his studies for a Chartered Accountant as a mature student, graduating 5 years later and later becoming a lifetime member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. James then moved the family to Kingston, Ontario where he became the accountant for Brookside Prices Dairy, then shortly opened his own private practice.

James will be remembered fondly for his easy outgoing approach and the help and guidance he provided many businesses in the Kingston area.

The family wishes to extend its sincere gratitude to the loving caregivers in the Trillium Care Community.

The family will receive friends at the Township Chapel of the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Homes, 435 Davis Drive, Kingston on Thursday between the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish (490 Days Road) on Friday at 11 a.m.  With a reception immediately following in the Parish Hall.

Expressions of sympathy, for those wishing, may be made to The Parish Fundraising Campaign.
