Hobbs NellieHOBBS, Nellie Elizabeth (nee Ottenhof) - Nellie Hobbs, age 79 years, died at home surrounded by her loving and devoted family on June 15, 2017.

She was recently diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer and it was her wish to be cared for by family members and die "at "the cottage," where she could enjoy the lake, loons, and gardens up until the very end.

Nellie was born in Holland and came to Canada at age 10. Similar to many immigrants to Canada at that time, she overcame significant adversity and in addition to being a wonderful mother to four children, she was a successful real estate agent in Kingston

She retired to Gull Lake and was predeceased by her husband Clifford in 2015.

Beloved wife of Vincent Bissonnette. Loving mother of Paul Bissonnette of Brockville, Terri Quinn (Wayne) of Dartmouth , NS and Sandra Bradley (Martin) of Brockville.

Cherished grandmother of Katie Quinn, Mitchell Bradley (Brianna), Sean Quinn, Danielle Astleford (John), Erin Mercier (Kevin); and great grandmother of Maxwell Bradley, Kohen Mercier and Paisley Bradley.

 

LeGros JohnLeGROS, R. John - (1944 – 2017) - On Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the Kingston General Hospital, with his loved ones close by, our John finally got to join the love of his life, Diane, on their long awaited walk in the woods.

John is predeceased by his beloved wife Diane (Forrester).

He is the well-loved Grampa of David Miller-Brown, loving father of Elizabeth Brown and her wife Terry Verlinden, father-in-law of Edwige Miller and close friend and “father” of Bernard Betts.

 

Vanderputten AliceVANDERPUTTEN, Alida 'Alice' (nee Honcoop) - (1931 - 2017) - Alice received her angel wings on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, in her 87th year.

Predeceased by her daughter Sandy and husband John, Alice will be sadly missed by her children Yvonne (Jim), John (Tammy) and Rick.

Oma will be fondly remembered by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Carscallen MacCARSCALLEN, James Allan Machenry 'Mac' - (Alcan Kingston Works (1941-1982)) - Passed away peacefully at home in Portsmouth, on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Tamworth in 1922, Mac was the son of Allan and Bernice Carscallen. He was the beloved husband of the late Marion Campbell, and cherished by his wife Helen Belding.

Loving father of Allan (late) and his wife Brenda, Susan and her husband Roland Billings. Devoted grandfather to James and his wife Andrea, Jeff and Joe, and adored by his great grandson A.J. Mac was loved by Helen's children and extended family.

 

Mitchell RubyMITCHELL, Ruby Lilian - (October 13, 1928 - June 13, 2017) - Peacefully with family by her side, Ruby passed away in her 89th year following prolonged illness.

Ruby will be especially missed by her husband Ronald J Mitchell of 67 years and her three children Richard (Mary) Mitchell, Joanne (Bryan) Grossman and Kathy (Jon) Cornell.

She was adored by her grandchildren: Laura, Andrew (Julianne) and Heather (Scott) Mitchell; Geoffrey, Nelson (Elise) and Scott (Jessica) Whistance; Rachel, Evan and Vivian Cornell.

 

HAMILTON, Sr. Julia Rita (Sr. M. Alexander) - Sr. Julia Rita of the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul, died on June 13, 2017 at Providence Motherhouse, Kingston.

Born in Elgin, Ontario, on January 20, 1922, Sister Julia is predeceased by her parents, John Hamilton and Margaret Scanlan, her sisters Sr. Mary Hamilton, CND and Margaret Murray, and her brothers J. Alexander and J. Terrence. She is survived by her sister Sheila Alarie of Kingston.

Sister will be fondly remembered by her sister, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and by the members of her religious congregation.

Bruce was a valued employee of Dupont for 38 years.

Mom was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas A. Howard (2011) and loving son, Ronald L. Howard (2013).

She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her cherished daughter Nina J. Howard and her partner Brian Williams of Millgrove, ON and also by Ronald’s son, Jeffrey of Calgary.

Maudie is survived by a sister Dorothy Loverin and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her son Richard Jackson and a daughter Jo-Ann Blake, her brother William Cutting and a sister Jennie Barton.

Beloved wife and best friend of David. Amazing mother to Emily and Hayley. Predeceased by her parents Jack and Shirley MacFarlane.  Survived by her siblings, Rick (Kim), Kevin, Phil (Diana) and Sherry.

BULL, David Benton - (December 15, 1951 – June 9, 2017) - Of Kingston, Ontario.

Born in St. Charles, Illinois, David was the only son of Benton Alexander Bull of Chicago, Illinois and Rebecca M. Jones Bull of Montreal, Quebec and Howe Island, ON. David grew up in Princeton, NJ and in 1968, moved to Toronto, ON, became a Canadian citizen, and worked for many years at the University of Toronto, becoming the Manager of the Computing, Security & Database Administration.

In 1996, he moved full-time to Howe Island, and started a small business, the Quartermaster’s Pantry, overlooking the public docks in Gananoque, ON. From 2005 to 2013 he worked for the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve (UNESCO) during its formative years, and also, for several years, at Queen’s University as an IT Systems Specialist.

 

ANDERSON, Percy 'Roland' - Passed away peacefully at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital on Thursday, June 8, 2017 in his 85th year.

Roland will be deeply missed by his wife Nancy (nee Wright) of 62 years. Loving father of: Wendy (Jakob) Flindall, Napanee, Peter (Joanna) Anderson, Picton, and Jane Hartin, Orillia.

 

Cameron IngeCAMERON, Inge Maria - Passed away at the Kingston General Hospital on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the age of 88.

Inge, beloved wife for 63 years to Everett (Cam) Cameron.  Loving mother of Natalie Cossaboon (Ken), Michael (Robin), and Donald (Natalia). Adoring grandmother of Christopher, Scott (Gen), Sean, Samantha and Melissa.

Inge was predeceased by her dear parents Valentine and Lina Bohn and by her brothers Theo and Rolf Bohn.
