EDWARDS, John Howard - (February 4, 1934 - January 30, 2017) - Surrounded by his family, Howard drifted on to his next journey.
Howard lived a full life, mostly in Kingston and the Islands area. He enjoyed his work at DuPont for 35 years.
After retirement, he and Connie wintered in Florida socializing with new found friends. With his retirement, Howard decided to take up golf with zeal and attempted to better his game over the course of 25 years as is the practice of any good golfer.
MARR, Jean Bliss (nee Gillon) - Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the Brockville General Hospital on Sunday January 29th, 2017, at the age of 87.
Jean was a well-known potter and sculptor for over 50 years. She was also known for her perennial garden and vast collection of Hostas. Jean loved horses and for decades she trekked on horseback through Iceland, Wales and locally in Brockville.
She is survived by her children Michael Marr (Jennifer Clark), Janet Marr (Rob Weeks), Kevin Marr (Huguette), and Robert Marr (Sheila).
LAMORRE, Susan Margaret - (1943 - 2017) - Her family sadly reports Susan's passing on Sunday, January 29, 2017.
A native Nova Scotian, Susan met her husband, Joel, while they were students at St. Francis Xavier University and married at the start of their senior year, 53 plus years ago.
Susan was predeceased by her parents, C.W. (Mac) and Marian MacGillivray, and a daughter, Melanie. She is survived by her husband, Joel, eight children: Dan (Coleen), Lisa (Wayne), Shannan (Greg), Greg (Amanda), Matthew, Jude (Shelley), Bethany and Lindsay (Sean); 12 grandchildren: Eric, Luke, Geoff, Ian, Kaia, Abigail, Matthew, Jessica, Xavier, Quinn, Aislinn, and Juniper.
She worked for medical specialists most of her career, retiring three years ago.

SHIRE, George Richard - Entered into rest with family by his side at the Brockville General Hospital, Charles Street Site on Saturday, January 28, 2017. George Shire of Mallorytown, aged 86.
He will be remembered by many for his construction skills as a brick layer and stone mason, and for his community volunteer activities. He served for many years as a municipal councillor and reeve in Ft. of Escott Township, and then again as a councillor in TLTI after amalgamation. He was an advocate for preservation of local history and took extra pride in the work the community did to preserve Springfield House in Escott.
He was a longtime member of the Mallorytown Legion, the Rockport Men’s Breakfast Club, and the Masonic and Odd Fellows Lodges. It would not be an exaggeration to say that at one time he knew practically every township resident by name personally and had probably built a basement, fireplace or chimney for many of them.
Beloved husband of the late Gwendolyne Kahnt of Rockport, they married in 1955 and raised 4 children: Dan (Karen), Bert, Darlene Brant (Jamie) and Cindy Cross (Doug).

Maddie is survived by her grandparents, Rita and Donny Morrison, Carol Ann and John Joe Chiasson, Uncle Mike Morrison and Aunt Leanne Chiasson (M.J. Devereaux).Madison was also survived by many extended family members, cousins and many friends too large to name!
HOPPER, William James - (1966 - 2017) - Passed suddenly at his home in Lyndhurst, Ontario, on January 28, 2017.
The youngest of five siblings, he predeceased Helen (John), Mary, Tom (Michelle), and John (Carrie) as well as his many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his treasured and loyal friend Crystal Hood and by his friends Art, Greg, Peter, Chris, Tea and many others.
William had eclectic work history ranging from stand-up comic, actor, gravestone chiseler, barista to his proudest profession as a Canadian author. His published works include Through an Angel’s Eye and The Heathen’s Guide to World Religions. The latter was translated into Italian and eventually banned by the Vatican, which amused Will to no end.

PATTERSON, Dr. Judith 'Judy' - Passed away peacefully at home on Friday January 27, 2017, surrounded by friends and with her beloved German Shepherd, by her side.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Jamie Tiller, her loving parents, Glen and Barbara Patterson, and her dear sister Laurie. Judy leaves a large group of close and loving friends from far and wide who will miss her enthusiasm for life.
Judy was an Associate Professor of Geology at Concordia University, in Montreal Quebec, where she taught in the Environmental Geoscience B.Sc. programme. Her formal education was in the geological sciences, with a B.Sc. (Hons.) from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, an M.Sc. from the University of Calgary, and a Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, Virginia, USA. She did her graduate studies in the Baker Lake region of the Northwest Territories, and maintained a love of the far north throughout her life. Her recent area of research was modern environments, in particular the impact of fossil fuel combustion on the atmosphere, and specifically from the transportation sector. Her work has been published in a variety of journals.
