DROVER, Frances Dorothy (Nan) - After a really good life, Frances passed away peacefully at the age of 83, in the early morning hours of October 8th, 2017.

Her final days were spent with loved ones and the amazing staff at Providence Care Hospital.

Frances and the late Fred Drover relocated to Kingston from Montreal in 1992 to be closer to their grandsons, and were longtime residents of Country Pines.

She was married to Fred for 60+ happy and very funny years. Sadly losing her son Ken Drover, Det. Sgt Peel Regional Police in March 2015. She is survived by her two daughters, Debra Drover (Maurice) of Montreal, and Brenda DeWitt (Brian).

Christina was also the cherished sister of her predeceased siblings, Geraldine, George, and Marion, and the dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Barb was a nurse for 36 years and avid volunteer with Sherwood Park Manor Auxiliary, Genealogical Society and the Brockville Figure Skating Club.

Deeply missed by her husband Lawrence (Larry), children Dale (Kate), Heather and Laurie (Bill) Purtell, grandchildren Jacob and Nathan Driver and Sarah Purtell (Tyler), step granddaughter Katelyn, great grandchildren Liam, Aidan and Zoë, and brother James (Jim) Dack.

Predeceased by her parents Florence (Goldie) and Elmer Dack and by her grandson Aaron Purtell.


Blanchard InaBLANCHARD, Ina Armina (Tackaberry) - Retired public school teacher, Ina Armina Blanchard (Tackaberry) passed away at the Brockville General Hospital on October 5, 2017 after a short illness.

She was born in the Brockville General Hospital on March 24, 1925, the only child of George Tackaberry and his wife Olla Conner.

She was educated in the local schools and attended Ottawa Teacher’s College, then taught for 40 years for the Leeds and Grenville Board. During that time she was an Associate Teacher with the Ottawa Teacher’s College and took many students for practice teaching.

In 1948 she married Wilton Blanchard they settled in Addison where they raised their children and lived until his death August 12, 1997.
