MAYVILLE, Earl Charles - Born and raised in Ottawa, March 29, 1917 - April 5, 2017, was 100 years old upon his passing.
Earl was employed as a streetcar operator and bus driver in 1940 by The Ottawa Electric Railway, which later became The Ottawa Transit Commission. He served three years in the Air Force and then returned to the OTC. He was elected President of the Union, Division 279 of the ATU. In 1959 he became Chief Instructor and retired 23 years later in 1982.
Earl was the first one to allow women as bus drivers and as union President fought for and got a pension plan for OTC employees, which ironically he collected for 35 years.
HURLEY, Mabel Harriet Shannon - Of Brockville, passed away at the Kingston General Hospital on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the age of 82 years.
Born in Campbell’s Bay, Quebec in 1935, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Sterling and Mildred McCreary. Sister of the late Dr. Keith Graham (Malaysia) and Catherine Taylor (Cardinal).
Mabel enjoyed teaching in many schools in Brockville and area after graduating from Ottawa Teachers College in 1955.
LUMSDEN, Ross Edward Roy - Passed peacefully at St. Lawrence Lodge in Brockville on Tuesday, April 4th, 2017 in his 88th year.

MARSHALL, Anna Maria (nee Giangregorio) - (1947 - 2017) - Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in Kingston surrounded by her family.
Beloved wife of Murray for 45 years, devoted mother of Allyn (Anna) and Bryan (Krystle), loving nonna to Morgan, Graeme and Magnus, dear sister and friend to Silvia (Brian) Edwards, and special aunt to Mark Edwards.
Anna Maria was a graduate of Queen's University and a retired teacher of the Limestone District School Board. Until eight months ago, she had a healthy, active and busy life.
GRAVES, Sandra Margaret - Peacefully at her home in Kingston on April 4, 2017.
Born in Winnipeg in 1938 to the late Gerald and Kathleen Despard, Sandra was a graduate of Neuchatel Junior College, Toronto Western Hospital School of Nursing (1960), and McGill University. A former Head Nurse at Toronto Western Hospital, she was at the time the youngest person to have been appointed to that position.
She dealt with a number of serious illnesses during her life and met them with an inner strength that was an inspiration to all who knew her. Sandra loved life, and the joy and love that she gave to her family and friends was matched by the joy and love that she received in return.
She leaves her husband and best friend Stephen, her children Michael and Kristin (Germain Drolet), grandchildren Jacob and Maggie, and her sister Judith Cross (Stephen).
THOMPSON, John Michael - Peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, April 4th, 2017 at the age of 66.
Loving father to James (Melissa) and Joseph, caring grandfather to Brianna. Survived by siblings Helen (Neil), Jim (Beverly), nieces, nephews and long-time friend Debbie.

JAMES, Rev. Reynolds Herman - (1920 - 2017) - (WWII – RCAF) – Went to be with the Lord, peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at age 96.
Born on a farm four miles southeast of Stittsville, Ontario on June 17, 1920. He was the son of the late Delmer James of Stittsville, Ontario and Susan Reynolds of Folkstone, England and the eldest of 6 children. He attended the local country school until grade 8 and worked with his dad on the farm and alongside the neighboring farmers.
During the first year of WWII he worked in the flax mill. The fiber was important for airplane wings. On his 21st birthday, Reynolds joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Quebec, Newfoundland, Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia for 4 years and 4 months.
While serving in Windsor, Nova Scotia; he attended the Nazarene Church where he was born again on Oct. 14, 1944. Reynolds served as a Pastor for 42 years in the Holiness Movement Church, which joined the Free Methodist Church in 1959.

Predeceased by his beloved parents, Dr. Robert “Bob” Smart and Dorothen “Dot” Smart (nee Jowsey) and by his brother Edwin Smart.

Keith’s deceased parents were Earlim MacInnes and Jean nee Griffin of Woodville and in later years Peterborough.

Born in Brockville on June 2, 1921 to John and Jane (Barbour) Lyon. Norma’s father was employed as the Chief Electrical Engineer on the Canadian National Railway line between Montreal and Toronto.
Norma had two older brothers, Hugh and Jim, both deceased and a surviving younger brother Jack who currently resides in Brockville.
