Smith ThelmaSMITH, Thelma Antoinette (née Graveline) - (November 14, 1940 - July 29, 2017) -

After a long battle fought with bravery and grace, Thelma died at the Kingston General Hospital at the age of 76 surrounded by family.

She is survived by her two sons Gregory Graveline and Jeffery Smith, son-in-law Jimmy Moorhouse, daughter-in-law Wendy Smith and granddaughter Mallory Smith.


STONE, Hunter Douglas - "Lost but never forgotten" - From the cocoon of the womb, our Hunter transformed into a beautiful baby boy, taking flight like a butterfly before we had the chance to see him for the first time.

Born Saturday, July 29, 2017 weighing 6lbs, 1 oz., Hunter left us to be with his family that had gone before him, family that will be able to look after him and teach him all the things we will never be able to.

Hunter will live forever in the hearts of all who already loved him, including his parents Alyssa Summers and Ryan Ray-Stone, grandmothers Heather Summers and Karen Ray-Stone, great-grandparents Dolores Ray and Bea and Merv Gard, aunt Cassandra Summers, uncle Kyle Ray-Stone, and by the many family and friends who have supported and celebrated his upcoming arrival.

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston, on Saturday, August 5th at 2:00pm. Family and friends will be received on Saturday prior to the service from 12-1pm.

Leduc DorothyLEDUC, Dorothy May (Bell) - Age 83, died peacefully after a short fight with ALS on Friday, July 21, 2017 in Strathroy, ON.

She was born on October 13, 1934 in Morris, Manitoba to Robert and Florence Bell (both deceased). In 1958, she married Paul Leduc (deceased) and had three children; Mark (deceased), Shawn and Lynn.

Dorothy served Canada as an RCMP constable for 18 years and was known for her community involvement and activities. She was one of the founders of the Stittsville Figure Skating Association, she was a recipient of the RCMP marksman award, and was an avid golfer, curler, and bowler while residing in Brockville, ON.

Negus RuthNEGUS, Ruth Elaine (Archibald) - (March 1, 1939 - July 20, 2017) -  Ruth passed away peacefully at Providence Care on July 20th, 2017.

Born in Upper Stewiacke, N.S. Ruth was the daughter of the late Harold and Miriam Archibald. Graduating from the Nova Scotia Hospital of Nursing in 1960 she enjoyed her career working at hospitals in Fredericton N.B., Pembroke ON., K.G.H and Hotel Dieu in Kingston.

Ruth enjoyed organizing and hosting parties, reading, the Blue Jays, but especially quilting. She spent many hours in the sweat shop (as her husband Clyde called it) quilting with her friends. She loved making quilts for her family and friends. 

Ruth was the beloved wife of Clyde for 56 years, proud mother of Kevin (Eva) and Patricia Mathewson.


HUTCHISON, Anne Margaret - It is with great sadness but also in celebration of a long life well lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Anne Hutchison at Rideaucrest Home on July 20th, 2017.

A proud Scot born in 1921 in Dundee where she met her beloved husband Tom (predeceased) at the University of St. Andrews. As adventurous newlyweds they immigrated to Canada and to RMC in 1950. A passionate environmentalist, birder, and Kingston Field Naturalist, Anne became the first Secretary/Treasurer of the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority and later a founding member of its foundation.

She is survived by her loving children Janet Murray (Graham) and Gavin (Hilda Thompson), grandchildren, Sarah (Leon), Diana (Scott), David (Tristan), Ross, and Alison (Billy), and great grandsons Aidan, Liam, Ethan, and Colin.
