For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Jorey GordonJOREY, Gordon - (1935 - 2017) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gord on December 1, 2017.

Devoted husband to Roberta (Bobbie) for 58 years. Loving father to Gordon and cherished Papa to Grace. Dear father-in-law to Christie (née Lawrie).

Predeceased by his dear son Glenn (2005) as well as siblings Bill, Bob and Marguerite. Gord will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.


GADULA, Michael - It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing on December 1, 2017 of our brother, Michael, A dearly loved, kind and simple soul.

Also mourning his passing are his 3 brothers George (JoAnne), Wayne (Marlene) and Brian (Sharon). He will also be remembered as a fun loving character, an especially kind human being to many.

Bos JohnBOS, Jan 'John' - Age 78, passed away peacefully on Friday December 1, 2017 at Hospice Niagara in St. Catharines, ON.

Jan was born September 7, 1939 in Gemert, Netherlands, the oldest son of the late Henry Bos and survived by his cherished mother Catherina Bos, age 99, of Winnipeg.  Jan was predeceased by his brother Henk Bos (Sabina) of Winnipeg and survived by his son Gary Bos (Jennifer) of Niagara-on-the Lake.

Jan will be dearly missed by his family members in Winnipeg - Brother Ted Bos (Sharon), sister Elizabeth Lankhout, nieces & nephews Anita Kiernicki (Ken), Ron Lankhout (Darcy), Cory Bos (Brooke & son Liam) Cassandra & Marissa Kiernicki, Brylee & Mikayla Lankhout, Ainsley McLeod (Ian), Jordan, Dustin & Dillon Gretchen. Special friends Butch Huisman of Kenora, Joan Fitzgerald of St Catharines, and many extended family members in the Netherlands.

Dearly loved father of Ashley Raymer. Cherished grandfather of Taylor, Zachary, Jackson and Grayson.

CHAMPAGNE, Marcel - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marcel Champagne, at the age of 85, peacefully at home on Thursday, November 30, 2017.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Rose of 66 years of marriage, and by his children Charles & Donna, Danny & Danielle, Christine & Sharmon.

MYLES, Alice - It is with great sadness we announce that Alice Myles passed away peacefully on November 30, 2017 in Ottawa at the age of 96.

She was a longtime resident of the Niagara Region. Alice was predeceased by her husband Roger Myles and daughter Frances Myles.

She is survived by her granddaughter Amber Kudeba (Brian) and their children Nicolas, Christian and Connor, her granddaughter Beth Fitzpatrick and her children DJ and Anthony and her granddaughter Brenda Harris-Osterlund and her children Kaitlin and Colton.

MINER, Craig Lawrence - (May 31, 1952 - November 30, 2017) - On angels wings Craig was taken away at the Blake Medical Centre in Bradenton, Florida at the age of 65.

He is survived by his wife, best friend & travelling companion, Laurie. Loving father of Shane & Andrew (Carlee).

His loss will be deeply mourned by his brothers & sister, mother-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins & many cherished friends.


Wesley DougWESLEY, Douglas Lewis - (1945 - 2017) - It is with heavy hearts and much sadness, we announce the passing of Douglas Lewis Wesley on November 29th, 2017 at the NHS – St. Catharines.

Dearly beloved husband of Jean and cherished father of Tyler, Heather (Marc), Moira and Kathryn – devoted Grandpa to Ashley and Meghan.

Doug was born in St. Catharines, on July 19th 1945, the son of Les and Dorothy Wesley, his formative years spent here, attending Sir Winston High School.

Doug entered the financial world of Banking in the capacity of the Branch Loans Officer, with Canada Trust and also with CIBC. He moved on into the Automotive Industry and was Business Manager for Brian Cullen Motors, Neil Chev Oldsmobile and Henley Honda.


JOYCE, Sally Mary Sybil - Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the age of 75.

Loving mother of Deborah (Bob) Kidd and Amanda. Cherished grammy of Sarah and Matthew. Great grandmother to Avery and Harrison. Sally will also be fondly remembered by her dear friend Diana.

Sally worked at General Motors for eleven years. She will be remembered by the woodland creatures that she fed every day and will be missed by all who knew her.


Sunstrum GerrySUNSTRUM, Gerald J. 'Gerry' 'Sunny' - (September 16, 1917 to November 29, 2017) -Gerry (Sunny) passed away peacefully at the great age of 100.

He was born into a large family in Mattawa, Ontario and was the son of Robert Sunstrum & Sophia Marnier. He served our country in WWII, and was a POW in Japan.

After returning home from the war, he met his wife Doris (predeceased) and began their life in Niagara Falls.

Les was the beloved husband for 63 years of Irene (nee Veltri) Cherished father of Wayne Sumbler (Stella), Diana Burger (Rudolf) and Tim Sumbler (Sheryl).

Loving grandfather of Ariana Whitman (Rodger), Dane Sumbler (Jing), Nathan Burger (Maddy), Haley Burger, Kolby Sumbler, Kalen Sumbler and great-grandfather of Kai Sumbler.
