For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Peters RudyPETERS, Rudolf 'Rudy' – Passed away peacefully at Heritage Place in Virgil on July 31st, 2018, just short of his 90th Birthday.

Predeceased by his father Franz(1959) and his mother Margaretha (1997) and his 17 year old brother Herman who died during the war.

He leaves behind an extended family and many friends.

Rudy retired from General Motors in 1988.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life is being held in the St. Catharines United Mennonite Church, 335 Linwell Road, on Wednesday August 8th at 11a.m. The extended family graveside service is planned for August 18th, which would have been Rudy's 90th Birthday.

A very special thank you for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Rudy by Dr. D. Reimer and Dr. E.O'Reilly and the entire Heritage Place staff.

If desired, memorial donations to Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted with Tallman funeral homes.
