Kerho GingerKERHO, Virginia “Ginger” – With thanksgiving for her vibrant life, Virginia Kerho (nee Godfrey) passed away at the Welland Hospital on Saturday, October 1st, 2016, at the age of 74 surrounded by the love of her family. 

She is reunited with her beloved husband Paul (2006) and leaves many fond memories for her son Chris and his wife Melanie. 

She will remain forever in the hearts of her grandchildren Griffin and Allison.  Dear sister of Jack Godfrey (Eleanor), Christine “Tine” Fuller (Pat), and Jim Godfrey (Sandy), and sister-in-law of Steve Kerho (Jan).  Also survived by her nieces and nephews.

During her 30 years of service at the Welland Hospital, Ginger held a number of key positions including that of assistant to the Chief of Staff.  She was instrumental in establishing and operating the current admitting and central registry department and she held the office of President of the Admitting Association of Ontario.

Also active in the community, Ginger was past Chair of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Welland Minor Soccer Club, had taught English to new Canadians and was a student supervisor at Welland High School. 

Friends will be received on Monday October 3rd from 7 – 9 p.m. and Tuesday Oct 4th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at J.J. Patterson & Sons funeral home, Welland Where parish prayers will be said on Tuesday at  2 p.m. 

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Parish Community of St. Kevin on Wednesday October 5th at  2 o’clock. Rite of Committal for the family will take place at a later time.
