WATSON, Elizabeth 'Betty' (nee MacArthur) - Elizabeth (Betty) Watson R.N. (nee MacArthur) Born August 4th, 1926 Passed October 5th, 2016 at the Millennium Trail Manor after 90 years of loving service to her family, her church, her profession and to the sick and dying.
Betty was born in the small mining town of Creighton Mines, Ontario (Sudbury) but was raised in Chippawa and attended Stamford Collegiate.
After a brief time working in the office at Norton Abrasives she enrolled in Nursing at the Niagara General Hospital graduating in 1947. She worked as a nurse for over 40 years, first at the GNGH, then as a head nurse at Dorchester Manor and lastly as a palliative care nurse.
She was predeceased by her husband Eric in 2006, they were married for 59 years,
by her brother Don "Mac" MacArthur of Chippawa, and great-grandson, Max Slingerland. She is survived by her three children, 9 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Len Watson (Lucie), Todd Watson (Kelly) and Anne House (Dave), Mackenzie Leslie Watson, Roslyn Costanzo (Mike) Viggo and Gigi, Sasha Pivarnyik (Chad) and Seth Andrews, Willow Slingerland (Rich). Dr. Todd Watson (Suzanne), Michelle Lewandowski (Jamie) and Elle, Erin Damji (Aly) and Vesper, Amy (Kris) and Ricky (Shauna).
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at the Millennium Trail Nursing Home. They were truly devoted and caring.
Memorial Service will be held at Queensway Free Methodist Church, 4397 Dorchester Road, Niagara Falls, Ontario on Wednesday October 19th at 10 am.
