Van Luttikhuisen GerryVAN LUTTIKHUISEN, Gerrit Willem 'Gerry' Passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital on Monday, February 6, 2017, at the age of 78.

Beloved husband of Janet (Leeuwenburg) for 55 years. Loving father of David (Randi). Dearly loved Opa of Jordan and Brandan Van Luttikhuisen and also of Tristan and Ashton.

He is also survived by his brothers Hank (Jan), John (Janet) and a sister-in-law Mary Jane Van Luttikhuisen. Dear brother-in-law of Jake (Elsie) Leeuwenburg, Jasper (Liz) Leeuwenburg and Fred (Jenneke) Leeuwenburg, as well as a number of nieces and nephews and their families.

Predeceased by his parents Jan and Teunisje (Westerveld) Van Luttikhuisen, a brother Tony (2012), infant brother Jan and his father and mother-in-law Ary and Janet (Grootendorst) Leeuwenburg.

Gerry was born on April 5, 1938, in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands and arrived with his parents and brothers in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on February 14, 1954. He has lived in Wainfleet for most of his life. He worked at Oskam Steel for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Maranatha Church Choir and Property Committee. He served on the Board of Directors of Port Colborne Community Living for many years.

Gerry’s family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, Port Colborne on Thursday, February 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Private family burial will take place at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Wainfleet.

A memorial service will be held at Maranatha Reformed Church, 42817 Highway # 3, Wainfleet, ON. on Friday, February 10th at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bart Keefer officiating.

If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

A heartfelt thank you to the Nurses and staff of the Welland Hospital for their excellent care and support.
